The Official 2026/2027 NBA Season Thread

Oh gawd....

Bron... we out here trying to survive Polymarket's undue influence on national politics, people in the administration using insider information about wars to profit off it on polymarket, people using their fortunes to manufacture consent through "appeal to the masses" through polymarket...

c'mon man, did no one on your team tell you any of this?

Knicks tickets officially went on sale this afternoon.

Loyal Knicks fans supported this franchise through two decades of darkness… losing season after losing season.

Now, after a championship, MSG is charging more than $1,000 per ticket on Opening Night for the worst seats in the building (400 section in the upper-deck)

Mind you, this is NOT resale.

These are Standard Admission via Ticketmaster.

Secondary-market sellers charging outrageous prices is one thing. There is practically nothing MSG can to limit re-sellers.

But these aren’t resale tickets—MSG itself, directly, is charging fans $1,039.50 apiece for seats in the 400s.

That’s $4,158 for a family of four. (Just for the tickets - not to mention the overpriced food and drinks.)

A multibillion-dollar franchise pricing its own non-wealthy fans out of the Garden on a night the fanbase has been dreaming about for 50 years.

Shameful.

The Athletic predicts the NBA players that will DEFINITELY have their numbers retired:
• Damian Lillard, No. 0, Trail Blazers
• Jayson Tatum, No. 0, Celtics
• Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, No. 2, Thunder
• Kawhi Leonard, No. 2, Spurs & Raptors
• Kyrie Irving, No. 2, Cavs
• Anthony Davis, No. 3, Lakers
• Anthony Edwards, No. 5, Timberwolves
• Jaylen Brown, No. 7, Celtics
• DeMar DeRozan, No. 10, Raptors
• Jalen Brunson, No. 11, Knicks
• Klay Thompson, No. 11, Warriors
• James Harden, No. 13, Rockets
• Nikola Jokić, No. 15, Nuggets
• Joel Embiid, No. 21, 76ers
• Jimmy Butler, No. 22, Heat
• Draymond Green, No. 23, Warriors
• LeBron James, No. 23, Cavs & Lakers
• Steph Curry, No. 30, Warriors
• Giannis Antetokounmpo, No. 34, Bucks
• Kevin Durant, No. 35, Thunder & Warriors
• Luka Dončić, No. 77, Mavs & Lakers

Ridiculous to put Luka on there for LA already. I think they're rushing it with Ant, too. Kawhi with the Spurs and AD with the Lakers seem very questionable-- one ring each but relatively unaccomplished in their tenures compared to the giants of those franchises. Westbrook stands out to me as a big miss.

Lebron - Cavs only, the Lakers don't fuck him like that.
Embid - only if they win a chip with him as the 4th option for 30 games a season :lol2:
Tatum - undeserved, he is done winning championships
Luka - Nope, he isn't winning in LA
Joker, yep
JB, is definitely not being recognized in Boston
AD, hell no.
Butler, hell no, he burned that bridge. The Heat won't even retire Lebron's jersey, he ain't Jordan

Kawhi and the Spurs, hell no.
Westbrook is definitely getting a retired number. I am not sure about KD, since he too has burned so many bridges. Definitely not the Warriors. The owner does not fuck with him at all, and he hates the Bay

The Warriors have already said they will retire KD’s jersey.

Tatum is top 10 all-time scoring for the Celtics and top 5 in playoff scoring. His jersey will be retired.

Brown is 10 in scoring, 7 in playoff scoring and top 10 overall and playoffs in steals. Finals MVP. They have to retire his.

Embiid is top 10 playoffs and overall in points, rebounds and blocks. He’s a definite.
