Logan's Run
1976

6/10

I watched this cult classic Sci-Fi flick last night.

The story still holds up today and is more relevant with how the current social-political climate is today thru-out the world with over population, climate change and environmental issues.

Not much for VFX/SFX. Some of the set designs look good for the era it was made.

For the Thirsty, Farrah Fawcett has a small cameo. She has one scene giving a good view of her legs, I was surprised too see how full her legs were, I always assumed she was like a toothpick body wise.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, references to Gay/Lesbian is made.

This film definitely needs to be remade for current times. There was a TV series that came after this movie debut that lasted one season, it’s only on AppleTV streaming.

tubi has a clean copy.

Synopsis

In the year 2274, young residents enjoy an idyllic, hedonistic lifestyle within the protective confines of a domed city. The general belief is that when each person turns 30, they are reincarnated for another blissful life cycle. Those who know the much darker truth become "runners" and flee to a hidden sanctuary. When law enforcement officer Logan (Michael York) goes undercover to locate the refuge, he winds up instead trying to initiate a revolution with runner Jessica (Jenny Agutter).

One of my funniest WTF moments with family was in the late-80s. I was in grade school and my dad's nephew (we just call him our cousin) was 4 years older than me, and his mom took us to one of the WWF events at that time. I don't recall if it was a house show with great matches, or one of the lesser PPVs of that time. It was better than your average show though. and we had floor seats that 1 and only time. One of the matches was pretty physical and there was some blood spilled on the floor next to us.

Cousin's mom kept looking over like - "I thought this shit wasn't real-real."

Cousin was fun to have around as he always had stacks of music, skateboarding, and wrestling magazines. He was in a band and an avid skater, so he had plenty of VHS tapes too.

:roflmao3:

Spider-Man Brand New day

Watched this in the theaters earlier today. And I thought it was good. The action sequences was fantastic. My favorite part was at the end. Spider-Mans last fight scene.

I was kind of thrown off a bit, by the villian. I'm not familiar with the comic storyline. This may have been based on, but I thought it was good.

Overall this is a good movie. But I would wait for it to come out on Disney plus. To watch it again.

A live-action movie based on the ‘60s animated series, “The Jetsons,” is in the works and legendary comedian Jim Carrey is set to star in the reimagining.

The Last House

PRAISE: This movie about a family of four finding themselves sealed into their home with no way out and a mysterious force that is making it happen has a great start. How will they survive? How inventive will they have to become? The movie has a Swiss Family Robinson vibe as i watched the family go through the joys of being a family and working together to survive and also go through panic, frustrations and sadness. The cast does very well in their roles making the characters feel like a real family especially in moments when hope starts to fade and the longing for freedom nips away at their sanity especially through some traumatic moments. Theres some interesting set ups in the story that pulled me in especially wondering what exactly caused the globally forced lock in.

PROBLEMS: I was expecting a bit more from the climax of the film because there was such a great build up to it. I felt the movie walked into the basic sci fi answers and SFX filled action set pieces with to much ease watering down what came before.

Paper Tiger
Official Trailer
Debuts November 2026

In James Gray’s deeply felt and intense drama, two brothers become entangled in a scheme that turns out to be too good to be true.

As they try to navigate their way through the dangerous world of the Russian mafia, family bonds begin to fray with life-altering consequences.

Evil dead burn lmaooo… all I have to say the father was the star of the flick… dude basically was Logan Jason voorhees… stabbing, slamming, crushing, tossing people around, throwing people through shit, taking all kinda damage.. should’ve been called evil dead bad poppa… the end credits of fuck them kids if I ever saw 1 lmaooooo… most black people in any evil dead movie.. well they were just there for the kill count

One Night Only

PRAISE: Set in a dystopian New York City where premarital sex is illegal except for an annual 12-hour grace period, can two people find each other and fight the facist law? Well....the cast is charming enough and there are some funny visuals and moments as people try to beat the clock to have sex before the clock strikes 7 a.m so its like the Purge but its all about hitting the sheets. There are some truths woven in about what if really would happen in the United States. Especially how people would behave and what wouldn't be available to the masses. I definitely laughed throughout the movie, some fun cameos are provided and so were some sight gags.

PROBLEMS: I thought i missed the explanation of the new laws presented...but no nothing was explained. Some things were only slightly touched on and if there had been a couple of moments actually talking about the no premarital sex law and how it was effecting relationships the movie could have scored more points with me. There's always this vibe of a coupling that must happen so that makes some of the movie predictable. There are a couple of forced and obnoxious moments.
