This is one of Iran's preconditions, before anything, including the MoU (prerequisite) and Agreement terms can be further discussed/negotiated. Legacy media over hyped the prerequisite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the "close to a deal" thing. Israel and the U.S. are in NO position to unilaterally dictate any terms unilaterally after that military ass whooping on the regional battle field.
What has Iran said?
Iranian officials have confirmed negotiations are ongoing and that some headway has been made. However, they have pushed back against some of Trump’s claims.
The MoU between Tehran and Washington included a roadmap to end the war on all fronts, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported, with the US waiving sanctions on Iranian oil during negotiations.
Iran has not yet accepted any actions on its nuclear programme, Tasnim added, saying the potential agreement allocates 30 days for procedures related to the Strait of Hormuz and 60 days for nuclear talks.
Meanwhile, Iranian state-linked media Fars news agency reported early on Sunday that the agreement would allow Iran to manage the Strait of Hormuz and that Trump’s assertion on the key waterway, through which almost a fifth of the world’s oil shipping once passed, was “inconsistent with reality”.

IRGC Navy and U.S. CENTCOM Confirm Strike on U.S. Base in Kuwait
IRGC NAVY:
Receiving permission and coordinating for passage through the Strait of Hormoz is mandatory. As previously announced, passage through other routes is considered a disruption and will be dealt with.
• Last night, several ships attempted to enter the Persian Gulf illegally by tampering with and turning off their navigation systems. After several rounds of radio warnings, IRGC Navy forces stopped 2 of them in place, while the rest were forced to turn back.
• The terrorist US military in the region violated the ceasefire by firing several missiles at empty areas of Bandar Abbas Airport, which caused no damage. In response to this aggression, the US base from which the attack originated was struck in retaliation.
• If this action by the terrorist US military is repeated, it will face our harsh response.

At 10:17 p.m. ET on May 27, Iran launched a ballistic missile toward Kuwait that was successfully intercepted by Kuwaiti forces.
This egregious ceasefire violation by the Iranian regime occurred hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones that posed a clear threat in and near the Strait of Hormuz.
All drones were successfully intercepted by U.S. forces which also prevented a sixth drone launch from an Iranian ground control site in Bandar Abbas.
