A PLAN TO END THE SHUTDOWN: POLITICO
Senate Majority Leader John Thune plans to bring up the House-passed funding bill and amend it with a new January expiration date and three full-year spending bills, hoping to pressure Democrats into ending the shutdown.
Democrats, buoyed by recent election wins, remain firm on demanding an extension of enhanced ACA subsidies to curb insurance costs. Thune is focusing on a few retiring Democrats who may be open to talks but needs five votes to pass the measure.

The report I reposted yesterday from another White House reporter claiming the man who fainted was an exec named Gordon Findlay has been deleted. (The White House statement yesterday said the man was "a representative with one of the companies.")
