2025 Chicago Bears Season Thread

Crazy, and this is all without Jaylon Johnson.

Also without a dominant pass rusher.

This squad is not far from being the most balanced I've seen in my lifetime. I've been a Bears fan going back to the Harbaugh, Neal Anderson, Dent and Singletary days. I'm used to seeing the team being shit or the defense dragging along the offense. In 2006, the defense and Hester dragged the offense to the Super Bowl. The offense wasn't a liability but Thomas Jones was the clear star of the offense.

Just need the secondary to get (and stay) healthy and for Caleb to continue to mature and learn the offense.

The offense is really close to be balanced and the defense is getting it together. The pass rush could be better but it has improved.

Unlike last year, this team is finding ways to win, not vice versa. That's a credit to the coaching staff.

Grady Jarrett is practicing

Austin Booker is practicing, is he finally going to be taken off IR?

Tyrique isn't practicing

Santos looks to be back. I'm sure Moody will get a call by somebody.

Roschon stays hurt and he barely plays :smh:

Finally a decent offensive drive, big check down by Caleb to get the ball to Swift on that screen. Need the defense to step up now.

I'm looking at it as his rookie year.

but one more year, and I'm out from the Bears

I've been tortured long enough
He played 17 games last year, he has NFL experience, like the speed of the game and what it takes to be a pro so I can't look at him as a rookie. Now you can say this is a new offense and he has to get accumulated to it. I'm seeing plays that normal NFL QB's make and Caleb still struggling with. He gets one more year because it's a new offense.

I don't feel he received NFL level coaching

Justin playing well doesn't hurt me at all. I'm happy for him and wish him the best except for when he plays the Bears.

Caleb needs to get it in gear and fast. I noticed his struggles before today but overlooked it because a win is a win. Today, we lost and the wolves were already circling. The media will go in and the only way to quiet them is for Caleb to start looking better.

The first two drives should've been touchdowns. The defense is no longer putrid, I'd give them a D today for letting a backup QB put up 30 on them. They aren't good enough to hold a team to less than 16 points.

Like complex said, you almost have to disregard last year for Caleb's development because he wasn't getting NFL quality coaching. This year he is, the struggles were expected but it seems like he's moving backwards in his development. He looked much better before the bye.

I was expecting (hoping) that the team would hover around .500 this year with next year being the year that real growth by Caleb would be shown. I'm sticking to that. The pain is there, just need to see the growth. This was a winnable game.
