Here's an idea for a new Blade movie that Ryan Coogler could write/direct – that doesn't get rid of Snipes – and gives him his flowers... and leaves room for Wesley to decide "how" he wants to move forward...
The Plot/Synopsis...
Blade (Mahershala Ali) is chasing a new Vampire Lord... named
"Kull The NightStalker"... and in this movie, Blade is forced to team up with an elite group of AI-Enhanced Mercenaries (called
"JumpTrackers"), in order to stop Kull who threatens to wipe out the human race plus all of the Superheroes.
The Band of JumpTrackers (and the Vampire Lord that Blade is chasing) all have access to (top-secret, or alien) AI Technology, which enables them to open small portals (for short periods of time) which allow them to "jump" across continents, and/or between timelines, across the metaverse.
However, every time a "portal jump" occurs... molecular traces of the portal are left behind, which the JumpTrackers then use their AI-enhanced skills & devices to reverse-engineer & re-open the portal, in order to follow Kull to the next destination.
Now Blade and his squad must "JumpTrack" the Vampire Lord Kull across different cities (and in different timelines), to stop him before he has a chance to fully assemble a "Bloodcoven".
The Bloodcoven is a codename for an abandoned Black Ops project that aimed to create a kill squad of super-powered vampires that would feed on humans, mutants, and Superhuman beings.
Simply put... The Bloodcoven was a plan for Population Control (of both Humans and Mutants), using Super-Powered Vampires, that the military would control.
Think: A Bolivar Trask (or Henry Gyrich) type of political mastermind... who manipulates the Vampire Lord Kull to create the Bloodcoven... instead of creating the Sentinels.
Ultimately, tracking Kull the NightStalker leads the new Blade (Mahershala Ali) to a time/place where he FINALLY encounters the original Blade (Wesley Snipes) himself.
At this point of the movie... Wesley Snipes will have a face-off 1v1 battle with Mahershala Ali... that ends in a STALEMATE.
In the aftermath of the skirmish, Snipes could choose to "pass the torch"... or they could both vow to stay out of each other's way & continue their own Vampire-chasing actions (in their own timelines) without further interference from the other.
(Whatever direction works best with the story.... As long as we get both Wesley AND Mahershala.... TOGETHER ONSCREEN... testing their might against each other.
)
To get to the Climax of final 3rd act & close out the movie...
- Add some more cool "JumpTracking" scenes...
- Plus add a "Mini-Boss/Henchman" Fight or two...
- Blade and his Squadron find some mysterious clues about Bloodcoven's ultimate plans...
- And they figure out who the real mastermind is...
- Which leads up to the Climactic Final BOss Battle between Blade + The JumpTrackers vs. Kull + the Mastermind.
- And add a "attempted betrayal" from one of the JumpTracker Squad members, when the audience learns...
- Okoye has been secretly monitoring the activities of Blade.

Because what Mahershala Ali did not know is... ONE OF HIS JUMPTRACKERS IS A WAKANDAN

... and they have been feeding Okoye information about the mission progress the whole time.
Okoye informs Shuri of all the events... and Shuri invents a cure that can cleanse victims of vampirism from ingredients that can only be found in Wakanda (or made using Wakandan technology).
And this is how/why Blade gets connected to the next Black Panther movie.
- Continue the Bloodcoven storyline and it becomes quite possible to make a "team up" movie with Black Panther & Blade.

- Plus, the Blade movie also introduces us to a new group of JumpTracker/Anti-Hero sidekicks that Shuri can create various tech toys for.
At the end of the day...
The fans get a plot/storyline that STARTS in a Blade movie..... but will FINISH in a Black Panther movie.... directed by the guy who made Sinners.
Mission Accomplished.
Everybody Wins.
