Why do white people love Caitlin Clark more then any other WNBA player

Do you know how much the NBA donates to charity every year, in their eyes the WNBA falls into that category

How long until the nba became profitable?
:puzzled:

And its a GOOD thing to be charitable about.

Because the BENEFITS/ PROFITS globally of good will optics media attention social media domination growing the game locally and globally inspiring new female fans and players the merchandise etc

It is apparently worth it.

Real talk bro. We on a internet board thinking we know the REAL economics on a multibillion dollar corporation BETTER than them?

*Did you see the bullsh*t the Bucks just did with dame buy out?

We not in those rooms.

I aint crying about or CARE what money THEY may or may not be "losing"

That's on THEM bro.

We should just be enjoying the damn games.

@therealjondoe you better never tell me sh*t again.

Cause you got me spending a Sunday afternoon on my phone defending Caitlin f*cking Clark

@REDLINE save me I'm out.

I'm taking the kids to the park again
Nah you're on your own and I ain't saving you, you keep arguing with these fuckers! :roflmao:

I simply stated the facts in the issue. Players get 9.3 percent of the revenue they want more. Because that's very low compared to other leagues.

Caitlin's good, fun to watch and that's why white people love her.

Non-biased basketball fans like her because she's good, and fun to watch.

There's nothing else left for me to say so

The difference is all those North American leagues generate billions of dollars every year except one
Let's suppose that NBA teams give each team 10 million dollars a year to operate. On top of tv revenue, tickets sales etc.

The WNBA players would like more than 9.3 percent of that.

When the NBA first gave money to the WNBA to start up if 5 years later they turned a profit and started making more and more money like those other leagues don't you think they would be getting more than 9.3 percent? I just googled all those leagues revenues, they all generated 11+ billion dollars except the WNBA

You're right, but the players are the ones that are actually playing. They're the ones that are drawing the interest.

The WNBA provides the platform for the players to get paid but...

You don't think that they deserves more than 9%?

That's chump change to what the NBA gets.

But I'm sure their salary will increase but we can't say the same about profits with only 1 WNBA player bringing in money.

It is chump change compared to the NBA, and that's why they're not asking for NBA level money.

It's not just Clark bringing in money. The WNBA Finals last year had a record amount of viewers. Game 5 of the Finals had basically the same number of viewers as Clark's last playoff game.

got it! but that was NOT what I said or meant. I was responding to @pookie about her complicated relationship to the league. The point I was making was the WNBA existed for her to have this continued career she has now. Without the blood and sweat from the OGs of the WNBA she would be playing in the Ukraine right now regardless of how well she played in college.

So in that regard she would not being popping like that after she graduated WITHOUT the WNBA being in existence.

And at the same time her career BOTH college and pro has lifted the entire league. To a point where they have a brighter future than BEFORE Caitlin arrived on the basketball scene.
Come on man I don't think you really keep up with the WNBA, if Caitlin Clark announced today that she's having season ending surgery then the WNBA goes immediately back to where it was before she came including being talked about on this board

But I never disputed ANYTHING you wrote though Pook. Have I not been DEFENDING Caitlin all day (you owe me @therealjondoe) ?

I am a fake fan to the ultimate. I took the girls to games get them the merchandise. But only watch the games of players I know I like.

I'm saying the whole WNBA charity talk? I was having that debate and defending them YEARS ago (before MOST of the dudes in this thread). You can search on here and find it.

its reaching a point where its not about anything but noise when it comes to a lot of this stuff. Just enjoy the game and the players. I don't think doomsday talk HELPS the overall cause.

Who the hell is saying the WNBA shouldn't build a statue to Caitlin when its all said and done. She already has THAT impact. But my question is okay is that IMPACT only for HER or the league?

Are we saying a raising tide DOESN"T lift this entire WNBA boat?

*okay just make it all come together and a real mess? If Caitlin played her final game right now? @REDLINE is she a HALL OF FAMER?

1- Because she is white and good. Every race roots for their own. Jeremy Lin,Manny Pacquiao ,and Yao Ming were supported by asians, Venus Williams and Naomi Osaka were supported by us, and Canelo Alvarez is mainly supported by Mexicans because people support their own.

2- Her ability and style of play. Caitlin Clark can play. She is a shooter which is more exciting to watch from women, than physical close to the basket play.

The only way the WNBA could possibly still be in existence today is by the NBA seeing them as charity, like I said earlier you will just have to see something happen to Caitlin Clark that makes her miss time in the WNBA to see if your rising tide theory works

You keep saying that charity thing Pook but nobody is arguing its NOT!

My point is that obviously its BENEFICIAL to the NBA. Just cause we dont understand it? doesn't mean its not. But them continuing with it is. so that is a big indicator.

And you too smart to believe when it comes to corporate profits and revenue and taxes a Google search or a tweet should be considered irrefutable evidence.

These white man know a lot we dont to let this continue trust and believe that bro if nothing else.

I don't really think you should concern yourself with all that.

Enjoy the games.

It aint gonna end no time soon.

Yup

I just watched her play again. I’m not impressed at all. Not to be arrogant but I’d beat this hoe in a game of 21. I’d dunk on her too, her defense is trash

Yeah, but views are great, but that's also depending on the teams that make it to the finals which is great that more people are watching it. I also mentioned their salary increasing with the new TV deal.

I think what what most of us are saying is the fact, if the WNBA can continue to make more money, women will continue make more as well.

No Caitlin wouldn't make it to the WNBA HOF but she will make it to the College\Basketball HOF due to her being the all time college scorer.

And like you said, her popularity rises the tide for "ALL" players not just herself. We can look at this board as an example. Two years ago the majority of this board didn't talk about or give a shit about the WNBA.

As I said before, I've been watching from the beginning but there are years that I didn't watch as much because I lacked interest.

Edit: I just looked at a list of the past NBA champions and I can remember at least watching the majority of the Finals. I might've treated it like baseball and only got really interested when the playoffs came.

Back to the point, Caitlin is rising the tide for all of the players. She's not only drawn interest for her but the entire league. The numbers show it.

She's got people talking about women's basketball who never talked about women's basketball before.

And I don't see you as "Defending" Caitlin, you're correcting those that are wrong or have incorrect information.

MY MAN RED IS BACK!!!!!

Again I like Caitlin, I like to watch her play just like I like I watching many of the other players and teams play.

But I'd be lying if I said that Caitlin and the Fever weren't the most fun team to watch in the league.

Also it's ok for people not to Caitlin, but make sure that it's Caitlin that you don't like. If your dislike starts with "Her fans", some of her fans are the ones that you have an issue with and not Caitlin.
