Persian-language 'media' as instruments of Israeli psychological warfare against Iran

A growing body of evidence confirms that several Persian-language "media" outlets operating outside Iran—including Iran International, BBC Persian, Radio Farda, Deutsche Welle Persian, and Independent Persian—act as strategic instruments of Israel’s psychological warfare against the Iranian people.

These propaganda networks, funded directly or indirectly by Western governments and some regional adversaries, have consistently advanced narratives that align with Israeli military and political objectives against the Islamic Republic and the wider region.

Their role in shaping public perception, undermining national unity, and promoting foreign-aligned discourse is no longer a matter of speculation but a documented and deliberate campaign of soft warfare.

While missiles and drones dominate headlines, the more insidious war is being waged through screens and headlines. These Persian-language outlets have become central players on the media front, seeking to destabilize Iran from within.

Their tactics are sophisticated, coordinated, and deeply embedded in the broader strategy of hybrid warfare. From selective reporting to emotional manipulation, their content is carefully crafted to erode public trust, amplify internal divisions, and present foreign-backed figures as legitimate alternatives to the democratically-elected national leadership.

For instance, 'Iran International' has been at the center of this vicious campaign. During the recent 12-day war of aggression imposed against Iran by the Israeli regime with American backing, the network systematically downplayed Israeli military losses while portraying Iran as unstable and on the verge of collapse.

The coverage was not merely biased and distorted—it was designed to create a psychological imbalance, falsely projecting Israeli strength and Iranian vulnerability.

'BBC Persian' followed a similar pattern during the Ashura commemorations, when the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, appeared among mourners after a 12-day absence.

Rather than reporting the event as it occurred, as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution had attended a public event despite threats, the network framed it with misleading narratives to shape public opinion.

One of the most egregious examples of this media warfare occurred after the Israeli regime bombed northern Tehran’s bustling Tajrish Square, which killed several civilians waiting at a red light.

While international observers condemned the attack as a violation of humanitarian law, 'Iran International' aired a segment in which a guest analyst claimed the strike did not constitute a war crime. Citing Article 52 of the Geneva Conventions, the guest argued that the civilian deaths were the result of a targeting error.

This justification, broadcast without challenge, served to normalize unprovoked and unlawful violence against Iranian civilians while shielding the regime from accountability.

These networks rely heavily on disinformation. Anonymous sources, vague “experts,” and unverified claims are routinely presented as facts. Official Iranian statements are edited out of context to distort their meaning, while emotionally charged phrases like “Iran is collapsing” are repeated across broadcasts to create a false sense of inevitability.

Over time, this repetition shapes public belief, especially among younger audiences who consume news primarily through digital platforms in this age of new media.

Visual manipulation is another key tactic. Minor protests are portrayed as nationwide uprisings. Footage from unrelated countries is mislabeled and presented as scenes from Iran. In some cases, staged visuals—such as burning tires or artificial smoke—are filmed and circulated to simulate widespread chaos. These images are designed to resonate with digitally connected Iranians, making them feel disillusioned or alienated.

One of the most revealing aspects of this obnoxious media campaign is the platform consistently given to Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s former dictator. Pahlavi has unapologetically aligned himself with Israel, most notably since his 2023 visit to Tel Aviv, where he met with Prime Minister Netanyahu.

His cooperation with Israeli leadership has gone beyond symbolism as he has actively called for "regime change" in Iran during Israeli military aggression, framing it as an opportunity for uprising.

Pahlavi’s supporters, particularly among monarchist circles abroad, have also drawn criticism for their behavior at rallies—waving Israeli flags alongside monarchist ones, harassing pro-Palestinian demonstrators, and defending Israeli aggression on Iran.

Perhaps most disturbingly, these media outlets remain largely silent on civilian casualties caused by Israeli airstrikes in Iran. Despite extensive documentation by the United Nations and human rights organizations of attacks on hospitals, ambulances and residential neighborhoods, coverage of these incidents is minimal or entirely absent.

This silence is not accidental. It serves to humanize brutal Israeli military actions while dehumanizing Iranian victims, reinforcing the illusion that Israel’s aggression is precise, justified, and morally superior.

The alignment of these networks with foreign agendas is no longer a matter of inference. A leaked document published by the cyber group Gonameman revealed that 'Iran International' had received a certificate of appreciation from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The document, obtained through a breach of internal communications, confirms that the network is not an independent media outlet but a deliberate extension of Israel’s media propaganda.

This is not a case of media bias or editorial slant. It is a coordinated psychological operation designed to fracture Iranian society from within. Through disinformation, emotional manipulation, and selective silence, these networks serve as extensions of Israel’s soft power apparatus, working to delegitimize Iran’s leadership, demoralize its citizens, and normalize foreign aggression.

In a war where the battlefield is the mind, and the weapon is information, the Iranian people face a new kind of invasion—one that enters not through borders, but through screens.

The only effective defense is awareness, critical thinking, and rejection of media that serve the interests of a hostile foreign power under the guise of journalism.

And, as we saw during the recent war, the Iranian nation is aware and vigilant enough to see through the smoke of this vicious Israeli-engineered propaganda war.

Edit :

they assassinated Nasrallah -> Hezbollah ninjas stomped/whooped their assess on the battlefield !
they assassinated high ranking officers from the IRGC -> Iran almost destroyed their country !

not surprised at all !

Bro it’s seems Iran is completely different than what folks said.
It’s definitely not squeaky clean but that place borders are opened like a mug. This one that shocked the fuck outta me. I thought it was secluded like North Korea.

Outside influence is extremely high, to say were told they’re a closed and non-friendly nation.

 definitely need someone to tell them

Iran's case is more humiliating cuz they got handled by newbies even if they were high ranking officers before they commanders got killed, like the rest of the structure before those assassinations those ninjas just followed orders !

Once they're put in charge they were the ones who gave those damn orders and even if the whole thing was preplanned there's a huge difference between receiving and giving orders , as a result those cats did their job so well that Israelis tapped out after 12 days of heat !!!

on many aspects Iran is like Turkey multi-ethnic population and that transition feeling, you leave the western world and start that middle east trip with Iran you leave the middle east and start your Asia (South Asia) trip

Bruh over the last 3 years this have been the case

Hezbollah pager attack and murder of their leader, they fought to a ceasefire

Hamas - their leadership was murked and they working on their second ceasefire

Iran - took a tremendous blow on day one, the amount of commanders killed was amazing…
Someone quickly sent off drones to buy time
They recovered and the world view of Iran has changed forever. Folks are saying Iran is who they said they were, “they wanted to be left alone and that didn’t happen”

A number of Russia generals have been murder and the charge forward is still kicking. The army is operating in a region where folks thought they would never get to. With for less generals than they started with. Russia case is a little different because many of there leaders be on the front lines(if we can believe what folks say) same as Sinwar from Hamas

Bruh let this sink in both nuclear backed Washington & Tel Aviv attacked Tehran because they might can get a nuclear weapon

   might be the first time i ever typed this because others always beat me to it but if that ain’t white superiority type shit than what is

Remember Iran always had no to weapons of that magnitude. They feel those weapons are horrible

Cleaning out those Israeli agents

In the immortal words of Migos, "straightenin"...

Iran just deported 300,000 illegals in 14 days. But here’s what nobody’s telling you:
This wasn’t just border control—
It was a strategic purge backed by intelligence coordination, digital surveillance, and silent approval from neighbors who claimed to oppose Iran.

Let me shock you:
1.Most deportees were Afghans, but not all were undocumented.
Some were UN-registered refugees.
So why remove them?
Because Iran discovered sleeper cells being planted by foreign NGOs—with biometric access to border data.

2.Iran’s intelligence intercepted encrypted comms between refugee movement organizers and Western contractors embedded in Kabul, Herat, and even parts of Mashhad.
3.A spike in counterfeit Iranian SIM cards and prepaid crypto wallets among detainees triggered the crackdown.
They weren’t just “illegal migrants.”
They were part of a covert destabilization pipeline.
4.Iran used facial recognition + border drones + cellphone triangulation.
And did it without Big Tech help—which explains the West’s sudden outrage over “human rights.”
5.Meanwhile, the West runs NGOs pretending to help refugees, while feeding intel to regime-change ops.
Remember:
Syria’s war began with refugee “activists.”
Libya collapsed under “humanitarian corridors.”
Iran learned the pattern.

And shut it down.

This wasn’t deportation.
It was counter-insurgency disguised as border policy.

Iran remains OPEC’s second-largest refiner despite sanctions

Monday, 07 July 2025 5:39 PM [ Last Update: Monday, 07 July 2025 5:39 PM ]

Iran has maintained its position as the second-largest oil refiner in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), a sign that the country is using the best of its petroleum industry resources despite US sanctions targeting the sector.

Data released by OPEC in its recent Annual Statistical Bulletin showed that Iran had a refining capacity of 2.237 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2024, accounting for 16% of the organization’s total capacity.

OPEC itself is responsible for 13.5% of the global oil refinery capacity, as it mostly includes oil-rich countries that rely on crude sales to customers in the developed world.

However, Iran has been a major exception in the group as it converts nearly 70% of its daily output to valuable products, earning more revenues in domestic and international markets.

OPEC data showed that Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter with up to 12 million bpd of exports, had a refinery capacity of 3.291 million bpd last year.

The figures are another sign of resilience in the Iranian petroleum industry, as it has faced an unprecedented regime of US sanctions in recent years.

Iran has reported consistent rises in its oil production and exports since 2021, just two years after US President Donald Trump toughened its so-called maximum pressure campaign on Tehran during his first term in office and imposed heavy penalties on buyers of Iranian oil.

Estimates suggest Iran’s oil exports, which mostly go to private buyers in China, have well exceeded 2.4 million bpd in recent months.

A report by Bloomberg published earlier this month said that Iran had produced about 4.3 million bpd of crude oil plus 725,000 bpd of natural-gas liquids in 2024, reaching a 47-year-high production record.

War with Israel improved Iran’s regional position: Iranian poll

Monday, 07 July 2025 4:28 PM [ Last Update: Monday, 07 July 2025 5:01 PM ]

A new opinion poll shows that a majority of Iranians believe that the country came out stronger from a recent war of aggression with the Israeli regime.

The results of the poll by the Iranian parliament’s research arm, published on Monday, showed that nearly 60% of Iranians thought their country had achieved a better regional position after the 12-day war with Israel ended on June 24.

Some 80% of the participants in the poll believed that Iran’s retaliatory missile attacks had inflicted a high or very high amount of damage on the Israeli regime.

More than 61% of those surveyed believed that Iran was militarily stronger than Israel during the war while some 20% said that the two sides were in a state of balance.

The results of the poll, published by the official IRNA news agency, showed that more than 81% of the Iranians viewed foreign-based opposition groups and their activities during the Israeli aggression as an opportunistic attempt to grab power in the country.

Some 74% of the respondents believed Iran should keep and expand its nuclear program despite pressures from the United States and its allies, which Israel used as a pretext to launch the aggression.

The poll comes amid reports and analyses suggesting that the Israeli aggression on Iran has significantly strengthened social unity in the country, causing ethnic, religious, and political groups to become more vocal in their support of the country.

Nearly a thousand people, including senior military commanders and nuclear scientists, were killed in the Israeli aggression on Iran.

The unprovoked attacks caused Iran to put up a strong response, launching devastating missile and drone attacks on cities and towns controlled by the Israeli regime in occupied Palestine.
