Tony Khan has to be punching the air right now. One of the WWE most profitable PLE and he fumbled Jade, Cody and CM Punk King and Queen of the Ring and the challenger in the World Title Main Event
He shouldn’t though…honestly it should help his brand two ex AEW wrestlers main evented. He has guys on his roster as good as Jade and Cody. Hes fumbling his roster. He couldn’t do for them what WWE could. Mercedes eventually gonna head back but they getting so talented and deep she may want to hurry. That whole era of Becky, Bayley, Charlotte is becoming a distant memory.
Jade, eh, ok, but Cody, c'mon, Cody isn't known because of AEW, so that ain't helping that case. He fumbled on both of them, he fumbled Mariah Mae, and he's going to continue fumbling people until he shuts his fuckin ego and delusions down and let's people who understand what their doing help.
I don't know if he fumbled on anyone but Punk.
Jade made it clear that WWE offered far too much opportunity and on a bigger stage for her to turn down.
Even Cody having an executive position and a small ownership percentage isn't going to rival a company as big as WWE and therefore the money, exposure and outside opportunities were always going to draw him back IMO.
Punk is different though. Had Tony handled that better I don't think Punk would have ever gone back to WWE even after Vince left since he would have still been under contract.
I mean I don’t look at Cody as a WWE guy to me that’s like saying Swerve a WWE guy. Cody found himself in AEW/NJ…..because I just eeen his ass as Stardust and it took awhile to stop seeing him that way lol.
