  1. She chose me. I chose her back too, but she chose me first. She stepped to me hard. She chose me over niggas that I honestly at the time thought she would have chosen over me. But she chose me and has been riding strong with me for the past 15 years.

  3. She never wears makeup, only lip gloss, and still gets carded though she's in her late 30's.

My wife and I were total opposites.

1) She was raised in a two parent house hold. I'm from a single Mom.
2) I had one brother and one sister. She had eight sisters and three brothers.
3) She was a church girl, and I was a heathen.
4) She let me figure out how to be the man I needed to become for her. She already knew how to be the woman for me.

1. She's very ambitious. Can't stand a woman who is not motivated.
2. Great sense of humor. Can't stand a chick who's serious about everything.
3. Very caring and nuturing. Not just from a motherly perspective, she's very active in the community.
4. Smart. Can't stand a dumb woman. She's working on her PHD, but she's not one of those women who's too smart for her own good that thinks she knows everything.

6. We're opposites who complete each other. She tends to be a worrier while I tell her not to stress about what she cannot control. We grow together and are able to build all while respecting the fact that I am a man before I am your husband and you are a woman before you are my wife.

We've known each other every since forever and when she wanted to do things she would call me.She always was around my house,my family and after awhile it just made sense.

Fastforward.....I got into with her family verbally and she stood up and kicked her sisters ass,fought her cousin and it's been me and her every since and mind you she's not about that life at all but just don't fuck with me or our kid and you won't have no problems.

Simple as that and it's been that way since we were kids.

My wife's father passed away this past May. I spoke at the funeral. One of my wife's nieces got up and walked out while I was talking. I found out that I was all types of Mutha-Fuckas that day. All I told them was, "Don't destroy what your Mom and Dad built for you all. Stay tight... don't throw it away like my family did." They're tearing it down right this minute... My wife was in Probate Court last week...

Anyway, on the ride home, my wife said, "I was ready fight if someone would have approached you." There's nothing like a woman who's locked in with you.
 
We had been dating for 3 months and I asked her what she wanted for Valentine's Day, because I'm not into guessing games. Her response: "I don't believe in that bullshit. It's just some made up holiday for women that didn't get what they wanted for Christmas.". After that, I decided I'd hang around for a while. We've been together 33 years and counting. Plus, she puts up with my bullshit and pushes back when I have a rare dumb idea.
 
I was young and reckless with money coming up. I had an Amex and a DPP card (army thing. If you know, you know). I was so bad I had collectors calling. Then we met a club. She visited me and saw all the debtors letters on my kitchen counter.
"You know, I could help figure all this out." She said. I went to OIF and came back. I accepted her help and she straightened it all out. Started with 352 credit. Now at 832.
22 years later 2 houses later, we're still together, one great son, and still in love.
I wouldn't change her for any other woman.

She loves my children and treats them like she made them.
She is a team player as much as I am independent, she knows I can handle shit on my own but wont let me take all the pressure.
She puts me first, always first, in front of everything.
She challenges me and makes me do better, she is with me to build me up and make us succeed.

I used to test chicks. I'd be at their house and I would say I was hungry just to see what the reaction was. She made sure I was fed if I was hungry. And one time I was stranded at night in Atlanta and she came to pick me up. She had liquor and food waiting for me. So obviously it was hard to justify getting rid of her, just for the sake of me trying to be a single hoe.
 
Been together for 18 or 19 years. I’m starting to lose count.

We share a sense of humor. We are very different in many ways, but she is a kind and caring person.

We keep each other on our toes intellectually and we share similar goals. She lets me be a man and allows me to lead like I believe I know how to even if it’s against her better judgment.

She will be the LAST woman I ever be involved with seriously if we somehow don’t make it.
