Let me splain. I'm 80+ and am planning to live to be 100+. But, I've been going to funerals and visiting nursing homes for people who I went to school with on the regular. So, I made up my mind that the minute I got my mail-in ballot, I would take care of it and I did. Just in case. I got email verification this morning that they received it and they sent this:

Yup. I don’t like lines. Did my mail in ballot and got confirmation a couple days later. Despite what the media says, (in my opinion anyways) voting is stupid easy. Even if I didn’t mail it in, I would have made plans to register and be prepared a few months in advance.

See....all the noise made on the board about not voting and all that bullshit is just the incredibly loud minority. So far only three idiots selected not voting.(Apologies if any of the idiots are ex felons not allowed to vote due to archaic voter disenfranchisement)

Agreed! On this board at least if you're participating in the elections threads then there's a real chance you're active enough to vote. Sadly, there are a BUNCH of people that don't participate in anything and haven't done anything this election season to change that.

They'll still complain or cheer come election night results etc.

Agreed.

That incredibly loud minority is being loud in order to convince some of us NOT to vote.

They are losing. I love scrolling through this thread seeing all the magat propaganda (@Costanza 's worthless ass) BEING FUCKING IGNORED!!!!!!!!!

Poll should have a Yes And option.

“Yes and I have or will volunteer or donate”

Agreed.

To be fair, I do think it's not a totally bad thing Costanza posts things that makes us aware of view points outside our purview.

It's always good to know what folks are thinking, especially when it comes to politics.

I say all this even though I often find myself gritting my teeth reading some of his posts... Lol.

Points well made.

Blacks who take voting for granted -- don't vote -- dishonor the sacrifices of many Blacks and whites who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for Black voting rights. Viola Luizzo, Goodman, Schwerner, (white), Chaney, Medgar Evers, Vernon Dahmer, thought that Black voting rights were important enough to sacrifice their lives. John Lewis & Fannie Lou Hammer bravely stood up to rednecks fighting for Black voting rights. Blacks who know their history -- know how hard is was to gain the right to vote -- how precious the right to vote is and act accordingly.

I actually don’t usually like lines, but I used to look forward to seeing my neighbors and friends on election days. It was a great way to catch up with them. I worked outside the polls for many years. But most of the people I knew have moved away or passed on. I’ll probably still work the polls for Angela Alsobrooks and Kamala, but it’s not just one long day anymore.
