Regarding Kendrick being black as a car tire. Obviously he’s not, but I had to say something equally as dumb as Drake’s popularity solely being because he’s light skinned.

This ain't a shot at nobody BUT... I always laugh when I hear people say this because they're typically people that don't know much about Drake or how the industry works. Drake is a WRITER. He's written songs for Kanye and plenty of other artists. Also, this is not 1996. Most big records in this era have several writers because record companies want to use bonafied hit makers to craft records that have a great chance to make money...and for an album, they get mixed in with whatever records that artists create themselves. This is not the treatment most rappers get because most rappers aren't bottom line earners like Drake. So yes...even huge rappers have ready to go songs submitted to them, not just singers. Accepting those records doesn't make you less of a writer. It's one of the main reasons why Drake has had an unprecedented run in the industry. He's a smart dude who knows hits when he hears them because HE WRITES THEM.

Whatever side of the fence you land on, me personally I try to at least keep each artist in context when having these discussions. Drake has done plenty of sucka shit. Ain't no need to misrepresent him. Its enough to talk about the shit that's actually true.
