Friendly reminder for the fans - Tokyo Vice returns for season 2 next week (Feb. 8th).

Gonna be adding it to the rotation soon with True Detective, Monsieur Spade, and Masters of the Air.

I enjoyed Tokyo Vice, however, if I remember correctly, I was really annoyed that the flashback scene it started the season with, it did not return to at the end!

Also, disliked the amount of on-screen smoking, but that's a relatively minor thing lol

Watched the first 2 (of 3) episodes so far.

Pretty good. Like the big budget feel of it all being on Apple+ ... glanced at Wiki and the budget was 250M.

Didn't recognize much of the cast aside from Barry Keoghan, Austin Butler, and Isabel May (only in it briefly so far - people will recognize her from Young Sheldon and her acting / narration from the series, 1883).

The injuries / deaths right off the bat in the first 2 eps amplified the seriousness of war. The close calls and near misses in the air, etc.

Mentioned it to a coworker who's a big war / history buff.

Band of Brothers is one of his personal faves.

He said he's in for this series & thought the first 2 eps were pretty good. Keeping in mind we're being introduced to a number of characters and getting a feel for who's who.
Spielberg & Hanks have blessed us with another great series

W :eek2: W

Apparently him and his podcast cohost have a very successful patreon. It generates a few hundred thousand monthly that they split.

Plus his stand-up and touring money.

He also had a small supporting role in Pete Davidson’s series Bupkis last year.

Looks ok.

The Outback environment / setting made me think about season 1 of The Tourist from 2022, and the movie The Royal Hotel from 2023 ...

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Building on a great opening
Donald Glover's 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' has the vibe of an independent movie, with thrilling moments laced in and a focus on a the phases of a couple that are getting to know one another on every level. I'm enjoying the banter between Glover and his Co star Maya Erskine.
I'm four episodes in and I'm enjoying it so far. Glovers fingerprints are all over this and as a fan of his series Atlanta I'm definitely becoming a fan of this series. There's a bit of dryness to it but the conversations, and familiar faces from other films and TV shows that pop in through out the episodes make it a fun watch. I do have questions about the "company" the couple works for and why they set up things the way they do.

Reyka season 2

Great start to season 2 as Reyka still deals with her inner demons and trauma and the effects it has on her family plus dealing with a killer who has odd motives and actions.
