YES! For two years that's the story that they've been building to with Cody. People want to see the endgame of him (the babyface) beating Roman (the heel) and finishing the story. People are invested in that story and for the Rock to come in and suddenly politic his way into the main event doesn't sit well with people. Wrestlemaina is already sold out. There's no need to do Rock/Roman right now. You can do Rock/Roman later with no belt involved.
The Rock is gonna end up running creative (for better or worse) when it's all set and done.

If it's just because you're a wrestling fan, there seems to be plenty of alternatives that suit your tastes better. Seems to me you like to be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. You must think if you weren't posting negativity of the WWE there would only be positive posts. The WWE is a business & they aren't here to entertain non-fans, they're here to entertain their fans. I don't watch any of it, but I keep up with it because I was a fan during the Attitude Era. I'd rather see Roman v The Rock.
Here we go again with the "If you don't like it why do you watch it" nonsense. I watch AEW, WWE, NJPW, Stardom, and ROH. Each one of those promotions have their pros and cons. I want ALL wrestling promotions to improve. That's why I continue to watch. As a wrestling fan it's important to provide feedback so that the higher ups in each promotion know what you like and dislike and therefore make a change. WWE had something good going with the Cody storyline now the Rock has pulled a Hogan "That doesn't work for me brother" and screwed Cody out of his final boss match with Roman.
Yeah, and I WATCH those alternatives. Doesn't mean I can't watch WWE too.

Considering your cons vastly outweigh the pros you post on this forum, I'm surprised you get any enjoyment from WWE. Do you think anyone from WWE is on BGOL to see your proposed "improvements" or "feedback"? WWE's style is not changing because some "guy" on a Black porn board has criticisms for their product. Especially if they aren't paying for anything.
WWE is in the business of making money. The Rock is a Hollywood superstar & brings way more national attention to WWE then Cody Rhodes ever would. Negative or positive is irrelevant as long as people are watching. The WWE could pivot & make The Rock the heel through this storyline so that they can pretend the "boos" are intentional.
The success of WrestleMania will determine if this move was successful.

Nothing is ever in a vacuum. It's all connected. Bad press, bad stories, bad matches all lead to people not watching and paying in the future and that is something WWE does care about.
