Yesterday teams averaged 120.9 points per game, the highest ever any day in NBA history (minimum 10 games played).

I think the one insight that is most often forgotten but would make most NBA analysis better informed is that the numbers just don't mean what they used to mean. It's like comparing shopping today to ten years ago and not factoring in inflation.

The league is more competitive and better offensively than it's ever been. All one has to do is watch a full length NBA game from the 90s and 2000s and see the horrible jump shooting and lack of touch around the basket to see they were the ones graded on a curve to keep Michael Jordan Nike mythology propped up.

For perspective on the wide talent gap, Prime Shaq vs. Old man LeBron

another great okc win.....i'm loving it. just seeing these young teams like okc, ,orlando, minnesota...sacramento is good for the nba. loving the dynamic of the young up and comers vs the old heads and their experience.......like the lakers, warriors and clippers. its a long season so we'll see who'll maintain.

Way more talented offensively than the underachieving eras of yesteryear. :dunno:

I actually agree with your larger point but it is not just disrespectful but stupid to call past generations "underachieving" because later generations surpassed them.

Those generations could not have surpassed them without their work to build upon, and the benefits of scientific advancement as well.

If you flipped Luka and Larry in history, is there any doubt that 2020s Larry Bird would be shitting all over 1980s Luka Doncic's accomplishments? If you put LeBron in the 1960 NBA draft and Oscar Robertson in the 2003 draft with access to all the PEDs and tools LeBron can spend on, do you really think we'd be looking back at the 80s waiting to see if anyone can play into their 40s like LeBron did? :cmonson:

It's like calling the people who built the pyramids underachievers because you think the Vegas Sphere is superior.

The difference is during the LeBron era we were expected to win every game.
In the jimmy era we're underdogs.
Both are fun
The difference is during the LeBron era you actually won some shit and the following at home and on the rode was so full of fanatics that the team was dubbed the fucking "Heatles"... now the scum ingrate fanbase wants to rewrite history and claim Jimmy scoring buckets on shit teams is somehow a better product.

Fuck Miami, fuck it's trash fanbase, and fuck Pat Riley too.

Nobody is rewriting history
Jimmy taking this team to multiple finals while beating the poster boys of the nba east is pretty fucking impressive too.

Why would anyone even be bringing up lebron on a Jimmy game winner in December?
LeBron fans insecure or something ?

The original quote was how butler had the place jumping more than the guy that actually brought you championships

League Pass is down to $50...

I got it at the end of last year and hated the interface of the app on Fire TV. It was hard to navigate.

I see it is now available through Amazon Prime-- I wonder if it works better that way...

So are people not allowed to wonder and speculate what the fuck is wrong with Wiggins?

Dudes regressed to being the overrated mediocre player he displayed for years

You think Wiggins not finishing at the rim is cause to start speculating about his private life?

Probably not the wisest approach to basketball analysis.
