Official 2025 NFL Discussion preseason edition!!!

Some of the comments are saying this is a parody account
So that might be a fake report
But kinda funny though
Yeah I'm not seeing any of the major reporters speaking anything to corroborate with that. Jordan Raanan was the only one I saw mention Adoree Jackson and it was in regard to why no trade of any kind got worked out.

What do yall think about the comparisons between Chase Young & Montez Sweat ???
Isn't Montez Sweat the better pass rusher? :dunno:
Seems like the 49ers could've had him for a 2nd round pick

Chase Young had more upside when younger. Chase is just a rental, he is coming off a torn ACL (at his size can reinjure any time), and Washington weren't going to pay him next year, so they got something for him before releasing him.

If he can survive the regular season healthy, he will be a lot of help, but won't be a star no more

Gotdammit. My Falcons are already dealing with the loss of Grady, yet we don't get not one single pass rusher??????? We could have at least offered up a 3rd rounder for Young!!!!!!!! I'm seriously questioning the entire organization now.

From an article on The Athletic last week comparing Chase Young & Montez Sweat
Young, 24, is three years younger than Sweat, plays 5 percent more of the defensive snaps and has twice as many hurries so far this season. He also has a higher ceiling, in my opinion, and his natural size, strength and athletic ability make him an easy choice for a team looking to upgrade its pass rush. But that is what Young is — a sub-package pass rusher who doesn’t have the same energy and/or effect against the run. Young has more burst off the ball than Sweat, has better bend and can close on a QB trying to escape from him. He is at his best as a third-down player, and I wish he were more of a factor on mixed downs or in general versus the run.

Sweat is more adept at fitting it up against the run, he uses his hands to get off blocks and he plays a more all-around game. But, like I said, he lacks the sudden get-off of Young, and that is the No. 1 criteria for being a top-notch individual pass rusher. Sweat is effective, just not great despite having 5.5 sacks compared to Young’s 5 so far this season. Sweat’s consistent nose for the ball and motor are key assets that teams will value higher than the average fan can see on a stat sheet. Less flash, but steadier.

The Falcons made a trade with the Eagles for a D lineman yesterday. Not one of their main guys though
