You are right. Hamas is the government in Gaza so they will destroy everything under the guise of just targeting Hamas. Think about this: More than 2MM in Gaza and the only theoretical exit for them is through Egypt and the Rafah crossing. The last reports I have read are that a few hundred people (remember, vetted/pre-registered etc. only because of security) have been allowed through by the Egyptians. I think they will be persuaded by the US and the numbers might increase to a few thousand.
Even when it wasn't closed, it wasn't really meant for the type of movement that will be required to evacuate Gaza.

This is a very tragic situation with massive loss of life, but it’s not Black folks’ fight. Time and time again, we get emotionally invested and involved in issues of other groups that don’t concern us. Israel, Palestine, Ukraine etc etc have not supported Black folks in any conflict. Whether it was the slave trade, Emmancipation, Jim Crow, redlining, the Civil Rights struggle, or police brutality, our our fight for Reparations, these countries have not spoken out for us. The people from these countries who have been living in the US have not spoken out for us.
We have to start getting comfortable with focusing on our own fight instead of everyone else’s. I’m disappointed seeing Brothers arguing on here about which oppressor treated our people worse. Both Jewish and Arab people have an extensive history of treating Black folks poorly all over the world. We don’t need to get sucked into this. We can sit it out just like we do when atrocities and conflict happen in African countries.
