Which isn't bad but that isn't a good rap song. Cause the bars and metaphors etc were fine but...

They didn't find the pocket enough they weren't flowing.

I got mad love for Bimmy but telling a young math hoffa he sounded like Biggie should have gotten him 60 days in the hole.

Because none of them knew YT like that to realize how much Math was caking off subscribers and advertising.

Then Esso started figuring it out and bringing it up.

They though they were building something and it was still growing, not realizing what he was making monthly.

In business if you ain't on paper it's fugazi. IE a partnership agreement, ownership of the company, even a memorandum of understanding would have been basic. When people have their intentions and understandings laid out in the beginning the relationships move way easier.

These guys are going into these relationships without a pre-nup. Many times in my entrepreneurial career I have been a part of situations where I didn't make money or I lost money or time. But I knew going in the risk and I accepted the worst case scenario before I started. And if I had concerns that could be solved with a contract or paperwork I'm doing that before I invest my money or time.

You have to be optimistic to be an entrepreneur but you have to balance it with the realization that you aren't perfect and no matter how much you "believe" something will work you have to allow for the possibility that it won't.

The opportunity is what they failed to realize. If at the time they realized that they weren't being compensated fairly for their contribution what they should have done is renegotiated. But before they did that they should have got their leverage together. They had no leverage they jumped in complaining and when given the option pay these niggas extra because they feel like they were wronged or cut them off Math went with B. ANd then they tried to negotiate as a group. If Math got 100% everybody should have been negotiating individually then Math. Too much talking like chicks. I'm not use to telling other dudes especially people I work with my negotiations with management. I literally see no benefit in it. All it does is give your haters leverage to get rid of you.

If you feel wronged in a business situation where you really don't have any legal recourse your just got your only option is to use whatever leverage you have or have built up to negotiate moving forward. You will never get justice for the past but you still may have an opporutnity for the future based on your closeness to the opportunity.

Pre-nup (paperwork and mentaly prepare for the end) Build your Trenches (leverage via relationships) Be aware (don't be so caught up on success you don't watch for the jux)

Yes it's their fault for not getting a contract, their fault for not seeing compensation in writing etc...

But damn, Math making hundreds of thousands of dollars and not giving anybody a dime? :confused:

From the parts I watched, I kind of understand why Math wouldn't pay them with the exception of Bigga.

If you weren't s regular initially, you aren't much different than the people who are being interviewed. However, I do think they should have been paid once they were officially regulars. Even then, both said they were given contracts and were paid at times. Another part that was confusing is the signing of the contracts. It wasn't made clear if they signed them or not. They also mentioned Math never signed the contracts, so technically no one could breach the contract. You can't breach what was never signed. To me, Math also isn't obligated to pay them until they signed.

Bigga was said to be Math's security, so I would assume that is what he should have been paid for. It's unclear if Bigga was considered a officially cast member. It also wasn't made clear if Bigga didn't get paid for providing security or if he just did it at a loss. If he gave Math a discount, honestly that is on him.

The new spin is now Math was upset that his music wasn't being pushed. Now this doesn't make sense to me given Math has a platform to push his music. I get wanting the classic DJ cosign/push, but why not do exactly what he recently did and push his music through his channel. If it's good, it would have made it to Clue or whoever else anyway. Now this could have also just been hate because they aren't cool anymore, but I got the impression that Math's music wasn't good. If that's the case, Esso should have been upfront about it.

There's 6 chairs or so on the show. Everyone participates in some form or fashion.

You don't think over the course of years and hundreds of thousands or a million plus dollars no one deserved a dime except for Math? :confused:

i disagree cause spaceghost had agreement with math and math wasnt paying him too.
ghost is just that type of dude that dont want no headache and take his stuff and leave.
he could have taking legal actions.

esso and hy demanded money once math started moving shakey. there was no clear vision.
and he started treating them like employees. esso was like aight then pay me. cause i got other opportunities.

as far the music goes math has made it clear several times that he still wants to be a rapper and get his music on radio.
he semi beefed with them few times about it including mecca. thats actually the one thing makes sense.
and flex did play his music on the radio. which esso said was cause of him. people are not checking maths platform for his music.

they were all building up the show it was not about money until math started demanding shit from them.
the only one was really ghost because the queenzflip thing.

seems to me math was trying to use the situation only to better himself and not the team.

bigga free security and cleaning
spaceghost equipment and editing etc. and cleaning
esso, mecc and hy using their industry connects for guests

I don't believe they were there for years. Even if they were there for years, it's on them to asked to be compensated for what they adding. If you work a regular 9 to 5 and decide you want to do extra work, do the hire ups automatically pay you for the extra work? The other thing is it kind of comes off like they were there to get exposure for their own platform initially, so being on the show was considered compensation. Basically they were using a bigger platform to drive an audience/traffic to their platform. I don't think it was done the way Math tried to make it out. Again, he wasn't paying them, they weren't always regulars and they already the show.

I'm not going to argue what is morally right. I personally would pay anyone who assisted me. From what was said, Math wasn't necessarily obligated to pay them. The exception is Bigga who was providing security.

The other thing that was said was that they allegedly weren't aware of the amount of money Math was potentially bringing in. It comes off like they didn't mind doing it for free until they learned Math could pay. Once they learned the truth and asked to be paid, Math seemingly was willing. I think Math had a none compete clause in the contract. They clearly didn't want to sign the non compete. When they didn't sign, Math didn't want to pay them. I don't know that to be true but that is what seems to have occurred.

Even the part about bringing their show to Math's network makes a little more sense with the information that came out. For better or worse Esso didn't trust Math to keep them around if Esso couldn't help with Math's music career. Esso probably also wanted a bigger cut, so he didn't want the his show under Math. This is also why they didn't want to sign the contract because that means they potentially can't do anything without Math.

I thought Space ghost was getting paid or at the very least officially should have been. Regardless Space and Bigga should have been properly compensated. Space Ghost wasn't on camera im the video so I honestly wasn't thinking about him when I was typing lol.

As far as the other two, Math already had the platform before they came. I don't know if I consider that building it together or being a team. I'm not taking away from whatever they brought, but end of the day it's Math's company. If Math only wanted to better himself, he's no different than any other business owner. Your employees (which they were not officially) contribute to the company and help to build it.

To me, this is what happened to alot of black entertainers who signed with black music labels. The music label would give the impression that they were family and friends. This led to the artist trusting them more than they should have and later finding out there were issues with the contract.in this instance, if you want to be compensated with money, you should make that clear from the start. It's one thing to help a friend once or twice, but that's alot different from treating it like a real job with responsibilities and expectations. The same goes for Math from the owner perspective. A common theme that we keep hearing about these different platforms is people not wanting to fairly compensate people or pay them at all.

Math used their friendship to profit off of and get ahead.

I think I heard some crap where Esso or Spaceghost said that Math would tell them come by my house and I'll give it to you. You don't have Cashapp or Zelle?

You get some more people just happy to be there and gain attention and mingle with famous people.

and then he came with vague story how he took 6k from the bank and lost it.
space had enough and left.

i get bigga not being paid tho cause that wasnt his reason and he is rich
the money convo only started when math was trying to be his boss and demanding shit

the other two were kinda the same. cause it was really esso. hy was on some lets build it the money will come later.
