Average Joe on BET+

After watching Tammy Townsend being interviewed on a talk show I thought this show was going to be a straight comedy about a family...well it's not and I'm happy about that. This is a blend of Ozark ,a heist movie and Better Call Saul with a sense of humor. Very involving and entertaining with some great dramatic moments. Looking forward to episode 5.

Lincoln Lawyer season 2

lawyer Mickey Haller is adjusting to new found fame and career and personal entanglements
Blackmail and an insane client could disrupt everything he has going for him, plus his friends and co workers are dealing with their own problems so the first half the season is off to a good start.

The Ashley Madison Affair

I remember the ads for this hey i need to cheat but do it in a civilized way website. It was so lame with a woman saying to her husband how much they needed to maintain their love but she needed to hit the sheets with multiple men on the website. It's interesting to watch the origins of this website in this docu series. Even with the promise of it being discreet people still got caught due to their own slip ups and the site being hacked.

@ViCiouS

One of the media podcasters I was listening to said what works so well for The Bear is that they had a strong 1st season and have built on it tremendously. The countdown to the restaurant's opening adds that pressure. The additional character development for several people. The 6th episode with the holiday flashback to 5 years ago. The intensity of that episode ... damn. And undoubtedly having a bigger budget for this season, and a larger writers room (prior to the writers strike) ... it all works so well.

Loved the AC/DC needle drop near the end of episode 9. As soon as it kicked in ... started turning up the volume on the remote, lol.

I'm curious to see if shows like Bear get really negatively effected by the prolonged strike?

1 episode left to watch with season 2 of The Bear. Great season. Easily one of the best sophomore seasons for a show that I can remember.

Checked out the pilot episode of Average Joe. Enjoyed it - liked the lead and supporting cast and what they're setting up for the season. 10 million and a Lamborghini? Damn ...

3 episodes into Joe Pickett season 1. Liking it. Looks like they're just past the halfway mark of season 2 currently airing. We're looking to get caught up on that show in the next 3 months or so.

Need to get caught up on a few episodes of The Righteous Gemstones later this week.

It's interesting about the reviews for Average Joe

It seems if this show was on Netflix or Amazon it would be huge already...

I hope BET continues to support it.

@Helico-pterFunk you think maybe if it gets renewed Netflix would air the 1st season?

Bro...

This is sho CANNOT be this good

I'm scared to start watching it.

The hype is insane.

It’s really fucking good, Playa.

2nd season undoubtedly stronger than the 1st.

The story and plots are well-crafted. Music choices solid. Strong acting and cinematography, and there are a few key episodes that will definitely garner future Emmy and Golden Globe noms.

Definitely recommend it. As my coworker said re: season 2 - “That’s how you do a season!”

That would be nice to have a Netflix backing. Wish it was on regular BET. It seems hidden currently on BET+. We checked out ep 2 yesterday. Still a nice blend of suspense and dark comedy.

go
This one sounds pretty good. I haven't seen her acting in quite some time, but enjoyed her work on Six Feet Under back in the early-2000s.

gonna give this a shot

finishing up my second watch of this shit
if you like horror and haven't seen already give it a go

In the 1850s, Captain Charles Boone relocates his family to his ancestral home in the small, sleepy town of Preacher's Corners. Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family's history and fight to end the darkness.
Chapelwaite is an American horror television series based on the short story "Jerusalem's Lot" by American writer Stephen King. It is written by Peter and Jason Filardi, and premiered on Epix on August 22, 2021. The show has been renewed for a second season.

Premise

Following his wife's tragic death at sea aboard a whaler ship, Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody) and his children return to the small town of Preacher's Corners, Maine, where a dark family history haunts them until confronted.[1]

My Adventures with Superman

I like that they are blending so much into this animated series. Some Smallville and Man of Steel. Japanime style in the animation and a retelling of the legendary Superman story.
It's also a nice surprise to see the inclusion of so many DC characters.

The Ashley Madison Affair

One last thing about this docuseries. You have people like Sunny Hostin grinning and laughing about the hits the founder of AM Noel Bierman took but in the end he's a millionaire living a life of leisure in Canada so he won IMO

The Game (Paramount Plus) has been cancelled.

This pisses me off for two reasons.
- I really liked this revival, they maintained the comedy, added stronger language and touched on much heavier topics.
- Now the show ends on a cliff-hanger, when they could have just left it alone after it had been revived the first time on BET.

Character development and evolution is epic...

@playahaitian

What's impressive about the character development too is that the majority of the season is comprised of shorter episodes, as per season 1.

And as we saw - they do a good job rounding out the characters of Carmy, Sydney, Marcus and Richie on specific episodes.

Well-written season with effective time management & episode arcs.

season 2 jus started ...never heard of it ... reviews...?

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S02 E05 Charades

This was a fun episode. There were always brief moments when Spock would lean into his human side on the TV show and the films but there was something about this episode that felt far more charming. The various character responses and Spock finally being honest with himself
It will be interesting to see where a certain story thread goes as the series continues

Secret Invasion

It's crazy how the most action packed episode was the shortest . Great job from the cast and the people behind the SFX and practical effects. Som good twists and im wondering how this will all be summed up.
