99 percent chance they won’t be bringing back old residents no matter what they claim
This gonna be the future for some other projects

Well over a half of million people in nyc are under nycha… that’s literally almost the population of Wyoming.. so imagine trying to displace a whole state population, that’s what would happen if they removed all the housing from people under that programProjects were supposed to be temporary housing, most of them have been knocked down in my city.
If you know that area it has clubs, lounges, eateries, some nyc sights, and a lot of shopping areas not too far(literally walking distance).. so that area has lots of maximum services. That’s why people are skeptical of them bringing those residents back cause they know they trying to move them out to bring in the rich. Also if you noticed they said a lot of elderly people live in those buildings. So being that you are up there in age imagine if some private company decided to tear up your whole living area to bring in millionaires would you think that was a good idea to displace you?I’m always amazed at how people complain about the concentrated poverty of the projects, but the minute somebody proposes tearing them down, the same people see gentrification. What’s wrong with economic integration? Plus, you’re never going to get maximum city services if nothing but poor people live in the area.
That area in general is money.. the high line literally a couple of blocks away. Artichoke pizza right up the block as well as a couple of big money clubs, Apple Store not to far and also bunch of high price fashion storesI aint surprised, arent those the projects right across the street from a prestigious high school??
I see them bringing back most residents and slowly pricing them out tho.. but time would tell...
Are you talking about the former cop that’s the mayor? Nope everybody knew what he was about.. a pig first everything else lastThat Black man yall voted for should get right on it, right?
Yep. Me and my boy was just talking about this last night. We was like anything near water probably gonna be bought by some private company than knocked down. We was like them projects behind Lincoln center gonna probably be next. Maybe the other projects on the upper east side on 90 something street and 1st ave. Few other locations near waterNycha sold a bunch of their buildings, so unfortunately this is gonna be the fate for the ones that were sold. I feel bad for the elderly that will be displaced because of this
You are correct, every building sold was bought by private companies. Nycha got a big bag for every building soldYep. Me and my boy was just talking about this last night. That's alphabet city?
Ok I know those over there. Just couldn't remember what area they called Chelsea.nah like 25th street. never knew about them until the early 90’s when i met this chick that lived there who started my locs
Nah this on like 16-19 st… it’s a few blocks away from the high line.. same block as the artichoke pizza.. I forget the exact club that’s literally on the same block as this placenah like 25th street. never knew about them until the early 90’s when i met this chick that lived there who started my locs
Nah alphabet city is on the lower east side of manhattan… this is on the lower west side.. funny thing is you could take the 14st crosstown bus and it will take you to both partsThat's alphabet city?
It’s still projects all over Manhattan beneath 100 st on the west and east side. Still with a bunch of black and Hispanic people.. lil known fact to a lot of visitors and nyers… but big private companies starting to see the potential of those areas and want in on that land/ property.. especially near the water.. there’s condos near water going for 5-6000 dollars a month.. so seeing these projects where people only paying $400 or less is like nah we got to displace these motherfuckers so we can build 3000 apt /condos complexes and charge 5-6000 a month for each spaceDamn! I had no idea lower Manhattan still had projects! I thought regular folks had been priced out of that part of town decades ago!![]()
Fulton Houses are across the street from my old High School - Humanities,I aint surprised, arent those the projects right across the street from a prestigious high school??

Well I have to give a lil credit to law makers.A lot of native New Yorkers are feeling what the native folks from LA/SF are feeling. The property owners are trying to get rid of folks still on cheaper rent. Elder folks are the main ones.
My homie who grew up in LA used to live in the Inglewood neighborhood where the SoFi Stadium. I asked him, where do you displace thousands of people? He said they got push out the city completely.
What about NYC? Where are they pushing the residents too?
Nah.That's alphabet city?
Huh?Projects were supposed to be temporary housing, most of them have been knocked down in my city.

ANY new building that is build has to have a percentage of units for low income residents.
That's ANY BUILDING. So every new fancy high rise has "poor people" in them
Yep once again property near water… plus all the club, lounges, shopping areas there… it be a lot of homeless people around there toNah.
You're thinking of the Jacob Riis Houses on Avenue D and the FDR Drive. Which is further east of 14th St.
But quiet as it's being kept, those folks are going to be next.
Post a link about exactly what you're referring to. I would like to read itThe last part is not true
Yes that have to set aside apartments for low income
However the owners say they picked names from the lottery for the apartments but leave them empty
Are you sure it was nyc people saying that? You might want to take that energy to another thread cause this ain’t the oneAfter Katrina, I remember you stupid niggas making fun of Black people in New Orleans for protesting the closing of the projects saying shit like "Niggas fighting to stay in the projects" when the issue was housing.
I'm speaking to BGOL in general..Are you sure it was nyc people saying that? You might want to take that energy to another thread cause this ain’t the one
