I wouldn't necessarily call it a fascination with prison culture, but Ali Siddiq is detailing his experience, and I believe the others are enthralled by the way he tells the story.
I watched another interview Ali Siddiq had with Roland Martin, and he said had he been shown what intake was he never would have ever been caught up in the system.
"Intake is the closest to slavery as you will ever get. That bus is like a slave ship. Being "heel to toe" means your junk is on another man's butt and vice versa. It's the single most dehumanizing situation I've ever been a part of. "
