Seems to be split but I see alotta folks (even Caribbean folks) saying this overly shrewd.

What say you?

Would you accept this behavior at a parade or Mardi Gras?

That's how they dance and that's how it was in the 90s and early 2000's at clubs and school dances and proms back then and I would be doing the same shit to them trini women. Fuck what others got to say about it.

That ain’t appropriate to do in front of kids though
Kids shouldn't be there.

I mean the same can be said when women be flashing their tits in new Orleans at that mardi gras with kids around since kids shouldn't be down there either. It's a culture thing.

man thats the universal ol head dance, when Double OG tryin to show

he still got it and takin it real low to the flo... seen that at so many

cookouts with drunk uncles and wild ass aunties... gettin loose...

with drink still in hand too...

But how does she know it's a random person dancing.

She needs to STFU and let people enjoy themselves like grownups.

From the outside looking in this has always been weird to me..
But this is their culture so I'll keep my comment to myself

Just a 'regular whine' lately it's gotten a bit more 'raunchy' with the "Daggering" crowd...if you're a child of the 80s growing up listening to 'Murder She wrote', 'Ram Ram', any amount of Calypsos(Jean & Dina) or Soca music($1 Whine), then it's 'par for the course'!

Shit is crass and primitive... but i think it has its place at carnival and adult themed festivals/parties.

Lol I dont mind if its just us around... might feel a lil tad awkward if they were

to be doing this at a garden party..in a mixed crowd...

so yea it has its place...lol

That shit is not even close to "dancing"..... it's just imitating a sex act now
sidebar: that was either a hippo or Lizzo in the background

.

Dancing with a woman is foreplay before the foreplay,.....

and leave Lizzo alone she tired of yall calling her fat...

talkin bout she is going to quit music...

LOL....

OP that isn't Jamaican music or a Jamaican event in your video. That's a soca fete and soca music. Artist name is Klassik Escobar. He does a lot of raunchy songs over soca beats that you'd hear from certain islands like the Virgin Islands.
Serious question I always wanted to ask someone. Why do they never change the beat on soca music?

Your ear isn't in tune to the music so probably all sounds the same. You don't typically find soca songs with the same beat.

That's like someone from another culture thinking all rap music sounds the same. Probably like how I hear all mumble rap, all sounds the same to me so all I hear is a blur.

Soca & reggae music have beats call riddims where multiple artists will do a song over the same riddim. It's part of what makes the music so fun for artists and patrons alike in seeing various artists riding over the same beat with their unique style and flow.

Never heard of this guy, was gonna say this ain't Jamaica and it's soca.

When I looked up his history, he is born Jamaican, moved to and influenced by Bronx culture, so mixes soca with Spanish music so he's a hit in the Miami scene.

That's not Jamaican music.

"We of the Jamaican Dancehall Delegation do hereby declare that by the Order of SoundClash Fraternity that this song is..."

That's why I made sure I pointed out a lot of his songs are over soca beats that you'd typically hear from the Virgin Islands. He's probably the most vulgar artist in the genre right now.

Well they ain't making babies from it.
  • The current birth rate for Jamaica in 2023 is 15.107 births per 1000 people, a 1.46% decline from 2022.
  • The birth rate for Jamaica in 2022 was 15.331 births per 1000 people, a 1.45% decline from 2021.
  • The birth rate for Jamaica in 2021 was 15.556 births per 1000 people, a 1.42% decline from 2020.
  • The birth rate for Jamaica in 2020 was 15.780 births per 1000 people, a 1.41% decline from 2019.

I am seeing more of these new Soca artists sounding similar to Klassik Frescobar with the vulgar music. Ever since I heard Gunman In She Hole, I was like well that's different. Thankfully these artists are the minority and artists like KES, Machel Montano, Patrice Roberts, etc.... are still the standard.

@Mixd funny you said it sounds like Bajan soca too cuz now I'm thinking bout all the times I've spoken with Bajan ppl and how much I had to concentrate to full catch everything they were saying. They're the only West Indian culture that I swear I need captions for. The beats on their soca are just as chopped up as their speech patterns lol
