Only problem is you need a crew. At least 10 15 guys minimum. Electrical, plumbing, hvac, concrete, framing etc. And a contractor license etc.
No it wasn’t , there’s been a major illegal immigration problem since the early 70’s. Many factors come into play with inflation such as population growth.
Also, you have to pay top dollar for legal work. This is going to be a sticker shock for a lot of people in Florida along with the other things that are high down there.
That's why most are in poverty down there because they don't want to do what their grandparents did to make a living but down there they had no other options,it was work those jobs or starve.
They have machines that'll do a lot of the farm work,I know that's what they do with sugar cane down there which cut the work force by a third but let be honest most people would rather be hungry and homeless than to cut,burn and harvest sugar cane;They get foodstamps down there and very little of everything else.
This is why Newyork will always have a certain population cause people relocate for whatever reason and end up coming back because EVERYONE can recieve some form of welfare as soon as they can make it to the welfare office,foodstamps,housing, and medical and you don't have to be disabled,crazy or nothing.
I know people that live here and recieve all the benefits but stay in another state 90% of the time.

Well, I’m not going to go that far because they are not paying the right amount of money for that labor. They pay the Mexicans $12-$15 an hour for construction jobs that should pay 30 or $40 an hour. I wouldn’t do that either especially if I’m legal in this country.

It’s crazy how low of an opinion we have of ourselves. A general sentiment is that Mexicans are hardworking and we are too lazy to do labor or trade skill jobs. Just so y’all know, it wasn’t always like this. We built thriving Black communities in Detroit and the Midwest from Black families making a good living working low skill labor in the auto industry. We built thriving Black communities in LA and the Bay Area from black families working low skill labor in the shipping and logistics industry. Black folks moved up from Louisiana,Mississippi, and Texas to get those jobs. My father talks about his whole community (Men, Women, and Children) used to pick fruits in season and get paid per box picked. It was like a social gathering in that everyone would be out there during season. It was considered “easy money” He has fond memories of it.
So what changed? Nowadays we have projects full of our people not working and dependent on CACs to feed our families. Nowadays we doubt that we can even muster the motivation and work ethic to work and everything would go to shit if Mexicans don’t do it. We regularly joke about how poor the customer service is from our businesses. Do y’all realize how damaging all of this is?
I see this as an opportunity. Push for skilled labor training in our communities. Our community can get those jobs and start establishing ourselves economically like the other ethnicities have been doing.

The wages would increase because they are legal. I have hired non citizen Mexicans for work for years and have written letters for citizenship for some that have worked for me over the years. I’ve observed them working for cheap for a few years, then getting citizenship, then working trade jobs getting good money within 8 years. Comparatively, I’ve observed many of my bredren stuck in the hood for multiple generations.
Huh? Any business large or small would rather pay low wages to increase their bottom line. Nobody actually wants to pay people more if they don’t have to. What a business will do is offset costs by raising prices and in return lose business. Cheap labor is why we have cheap goods. CEO’s are not cutting their own pay to offset costs.
