TV SHOWS / SERIES - Seen any good ones lately? Please feel free to post reviews / feedback / trailers / articles / TV news / all that shit ...

Imagine how dope an actor you have got to be...

That the open handed run is still imitated and considered iconic till this day and became the DEFINITIVE way for all future "humanoid robots" to run?

Agreed. I hadn't seen him in stuff for many years ... and now seeing him more frequently in roles I've commented to friends and family (who aren't as familiar with his work) - "You know who that is, right?" ... I then mention his role in T2 and they're like - "Ohhhhh shit! That's him ..."

Sent my dad some of the clips ^ and his reply was - "Yeah ... his work still holds up in that movie. Intense."

Grace on Britbox and Amazon Prime

I think this is an excellent series. You have two detectives dealing with their own lingering personal issues while trying to solve multi layered and complicated cases. Very involving.

Silo on Apple

is an interesting and ever changing series. It's a bit like Logan's Run but taken to all kinds of other levels because of it's setting and story threads. It holds my interest because i want answers to all of the questions presented

Anyone going to be checking out this series? Saved the first few episodes to check out ... all the episodes are available now ... quite the main and guest stars listed in the cast.

Checked out the first 4 episodes. They're easy to get through at 24 - 27 minutes each.

The best of those four were episodes 2 & 4.

The photos at the end of episode 2 are very effective. They sort of catch you off-guard as they don't look 20+ years old and dated, and look quite a bit more current. Impactful considering the events of a few weeks prior in that real-life timeline. And no spoilers regarding episode 4, but the cameo appearance is great (especially if you liked the actor's comeback role a few years ago) and the homage to a particular movie franchise. Had a few laughs at some of those scenes.

If you're a fan of Joe Pesci's, you'll enjoy his role in this series. Good casting of Edie Falco as well. They're both used effectively.

Real talk bro

I was a little surprised just how fast and how many mobilized.

If I'm the WGA I'm calling Shemar ASAP

Yeah. Definitely one of the quickest turnarounds in the biz.

I just hope everyone involved in the show doesn’t lose hope or trust in the decision makers behind the scenes. The rug was pulled out from under them, then quickly set back in place. That is not cool at all, and garners you zero goodwill. Understandably so.

Well f*cking said.

I hope they see it instead as a testament to their work and their incredible loyal fan base. They have a rare opportunity to close their story properly.

Just honor the fans and the show and go out hot.

I might actually watch the final season

Agreed. Find the silver lining and close out strong. Appreciate the fact that the initial bullshit decision was quickly remedied / corrected. Other networks and shows have done the opposite and wasted peoples’ time for months / years further pissing off numerous parties who need to schedule other future work projects & make their living with assurance of stability.

Finished Bupkis yesterday. Pretty good on the whole. The shorter episode format definitely helped.

Episode 2 was still my fave of the eight. Very effective.

MH370: The Plane That Disappeared
2023

6.5/10

Watched this documentary this morning on Netflix. It debuted earlier this year.

This thing played out pretty well and dropped some information that the US News media never covered or brought up.

The series is split up in 3 episodes that run about 50 minutes each. Each one deals with a single theory.

The first episode mainly deals with the initial disappearance, the Malaysian Government response and survivors accounts. Nothing new is revealed that you didn’t hear about in American news media.

The 2nd episode gets into some information (some conspiracy) that the news media touched on, but never investigated.

The 3rd episode gets deep into the conspiracy. I’m not gonna spoil it but it reveals some information that makes it clear that there is no way that plane could have disappeared without a trace. I’ll leave it at that.

Synopsis

In 2014, Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 vanished, along with all 239 passengers on board. Nine years later, a global community of family members, scientists, investigators, and journalists is still searching for answers.

Just got done watching it. You got any personal thoughts on what happened with it?

Perry Mason season 2

Definitely a slow burn but always interesting to see things play out in it's settings and time period. I really have to praise the work of the set and costume designers i know it's not easy filming period pieces.A few threads were predictable especially after episode 6 but i looked forward to every episode.

Rabbit Hole on Paramount+

This series takes nothing is what it seems to be to another level and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Each time I thought I had every character and situations figured out the show threw another twist at me.I also liked all of the hard truth the series stated about giving your life over to the internet and social media Meta Golding is beautiful and then some !!
Definitely in my top 10 TV shows for 2023

Superman & Lois

They Knocked it out of the park again i knew the dinner party wasnt going to be
just a nice meet up but the way it played out was great visually and emotionally
To the actress portraying Peia .....Daya Vaidya's BRAVO !!!!

The Flash

More flashbacks to season 1 and more time with characters that are unlikeable
So Hey uhmm she's earth woman or ice cold woman mother earth?!?
Why didnt they just keep Frost ?

Class of 09

Another interesting and involving show from FX. The rise and complicated lives of FBI agents with a little Minority Report mixed in and im enjoying it so far . Im invested and looking forward to seeing how certain characters ended up in certain sitiuations.

Extrapolation

Extremely sobering and well made series about the environment in the not so distant future. It's about those that look at every angle to profit from it and those that are still trying to save it . The actors are doing a great job of displaying the heartless and those who can't help but being personally involved.

What they showed in episode 3 I believe it went down like that too some degree.

It had to be a Black Ops operation. There must have been someone/something on that plane that someone wanted that was more important than human life.

That plane was taken over and redirected somewhere. Being the survivors were able to call the passengers cell phones and they rang and went to voicemail is clue that the plane did not crash.

The passengers/crew were executed and the plane was disposed.

The question is who was behind the operation and what did they want.

Agreed. That was the most believable scenario for me too

We enjoyed it too. Checked out the finale yesterday evening. Enjoyed the fact that the show is multi-layered. You have to pay attention so as not to miss fine details. When it's at its best, it slows down a bit as it can get overly-complicated at times when it doesn't need to be. But credit to everyone involved for making a show that wasn't dull and formulaic. Agreed re: Meta Golding. Super fine in her early-50s. That twist in the final 15 minutes or so with a different character was great. Far-fetched and all, but it was wild and enjoyable to see play out seconds later as you expected it would. It would be interesting to see how well Rabbit Hole performed with the Paramount+ viewership. Tough to know the specifics with the streaming platforms.

I like Silo so far, I didn't read the book but from the first two episodes you get what's going on but I hope it doesn't go a predictable route.
