50 Cent Thinks Eminem's Impact on Hip-Hop Is Bigger Than Jay-Z

Yes it is. Jay stopped his concerts and blocked features. 50 Cent in the Club was produced by Dre and one of the biggest hip hop songs of the century.

When did Jay hate on him? Not inviting him to the superbowl is not hating.

Where are you getting this info from?

The news!!!!!!??

Are you a Jay Z fan so hard.

I like Jay the artist but he is a Fromer affected person him and his wife.

Jay invited Mary J Blidge to a Doctor Dre set before 50 Cent? Are you nuts?

Kendrick Lamar ehhh? Ok. Dre kinda co-signed him? But he ain’t need to be there either.

Niggas man.

Even though I don’t agree.
eminem is the best wordsmith (puts words together) but not the best rapper. I still got biggie pac and nas. Before em. Even rakim before em. Poetry, content, impact makes it art and not just a rhyme.
remember Illmatic is in the library of congress next to the Declaration of Independence
With that being said the population is 60% white what do you expect.

why does 50 hate Jay?.....did something happen ......also, white boy can rap....
No. White boy can rhyme. It’s a difference.
50 clapping at jay because he found out jay didn’t want him at the superbowl. Em forced it

It's not about being a fan. You made the statements so Im asking for verification. So you still haven't proved that jay hated on him and you haven't proved that jay blocked him and stopped his concerts.

Being that white people who one time despised rap are now the leading consumers in the genre after Em, I'd say that sounds about right.

Nigga. I am not going to google all the 50 cent interviews where this is spoken on. As a rap fan it is common knowledge how Jay Z moves. If you aint a rap fan that is cool. Stay out the thread and don't comment bro. I dont know what to tell you. If you dont know that Jay Z has hated on 50 Cent his whole career you are bugged out.

Men lie women lie numbers don't.
Eminem is the most popular rapper alive.
That is a fact.

The distain for Eminem on this board is strange to me. Niggas will literally rewrite history to say Em was always wack... Blah blah blah. It don't make sense. The man has been co-signed by numerous top tier MC's. Been a staple in the game for 20+ years. Created slang. Shown up other MC's on their own tracks. Has multiple classics songs. I'm sorry he's white. I know that burns you e-militants up on the inside. You can hate him all you want, just stop with the revisionists history.
This 1000 percent

Impact is the keyword. Em is an ill emcee that appealed to more people than Jay-Z.
Am I riding around to Eminem? Never but I give respect where respect is due. His first few albums are classic thanks to Dr Dre.

not at all. I call it Bi-Guys online some days from some of the shit i see posted sometimes.

I'm seeing the whitest points of views and behaviors ever.

And I'd agree, there are a very loud and vocal minority on here who can see the homosexuality in a bag of Utz chips.
My synopsis is it's dudes fishing 4 other dudes.

So in other words, you're just gossiping.

em more impact worldwide
also what u think 50 to say evebody passed on him in NY
em took a chance

Jay wrote the single for Dre first single chronic 2001 still dre

Jay vs nas

Jay/dash rocafella which pushed Kanye’s career..albulms, clothing line

Dipset going commercial.. which helped Jim jones career.. who eventually started the show love and hip hop

The Philly connection which shine light on Philly artist.. beanie, freeway, young Gunnaz

Rocafella clothing line which help spawn lot of black clothing lines late 90s, Sean John, etc

First reality behind the scenes movie of tour.. backstage movie

Became def jam president

Promoted Brooklyn nets and sold out Brooklyn to help gentrified Brooklyn

Pretty much was responsible for the Dre/em superbowl show

Jay responsible for Rihana career

I definitely don’t fuck with Em at all. When he came out when I was in high school, I listened to some of his tracks, but that’s because he was so commercial. I never bought his albums nor do I have them on my hard drive when was collecting everything during the Golden Age of the internet (2000 - 2011).

That being said, I never questioned his skills and it’s no coincidence that very few folk went at him. Because the last thing those rappers wanted was to be outclassed by that goofy looking dude. And they all knew it was a possibility. They kept their ego in check and let that white boy have his lane.

And to think where DMX was at in ‘98 compared to Jay-Z. That shit is still crazy to me.

Ruff Ryders had it, but terrible on the business side for longevity. Plus, Jay-z married Beyoncé. That’s a huge plus for branding once Rocafella died down.

Dude sold a helluva lot of cds.

Had people that don't even like rap and hip hop buying his shit

Nobody said he was a better rapper...just had a bigger impact.....

It's not a bad argument
Eminem's the best\biggest selling rapper of all time, but we hear you.
Men lie women lie numbers don't.

Em.... crossover x mainstream x white = Greater Impact..... mic drop
Em had a greater impact on 12 year old white boys, who bought all his music.

Just because someone sells a lot of records don't mean they have more impact in rap culture.

By that logic, then Em has a greater impact than just about every rapper in history, including Run DMC, LL, Rakim, Nas, KRS 1, Kane, etc.

Hip-hop is how old now? Over 40 years old? I think it’s time we start speaking of the genre in terms of decades at this point when it comes to impact, imo.

What Em was doing when he came out wasn’t the same as LL, Rakim, and the rest. Just like when Jeezy and Gucci hit the scene with trap music which was a byproduct of crunk music. And now all this crap today is a byproduct of trap music.

So Em didn’t have more or less impact than the OGs. He was a product of the time. He didn’t change the culture, he just help the genre expand to a much larger demographic of people. That’s what Def Jam was trying to do when they was crossing over with DMC and Aerosmith. They just didn’t hire a white boy on their label. But Dre did. Lol.

Talk about taking a quote with no context of my actual post! :roflmao:

Actually Def Jam did hire some white boys called The Beastie Boys.

I see your point though about different eras of hip hop and that is why it is hard to do a top 5 greatest rappers of all time.

But I still say Jay had more impact than Em. Jay changed the way people dressed, what type of jewelry they wore, topics to rap about, how to think about business, etc.

He single handedly shut down dudes from wearing jerseys and putting on button ups.

Damn, I stay forgetting about the Beastie Boys. I wasn’t a fan of them at all.

Jay definitely had a more cultural impact for sure. That’s not even debatable, imo. Em was never a cultural impact. Master P was more of a cultural impact than Em, and I’m sure Em sold more albums than all of No Limit combined. I don’t know that for sure, but I wouldn’t doubt it until proven otherwise.
