Triple H being petty. All TK was asking for was a AEW mention and you get to have Billy Gunn (who's more relevant in 2022 than any other DX member) on your show.
Hunter probably still mad at he got called out for contract tampering. Would have been away to build some good will between the two companies but that's business and competition.

Let's recap. Triple H wanted Billy Gunn to be apart of the DX Reunion on RAW so he asked TK for permission to use him on the show. TK said okay I'll let you use him but only if you mention AEW on your programming. I think that's a pretty fair offer. TK is not going to let them use Billy Gunn for free. This is a business. So let's revisit your question now.

That isolation pettiness of not wanting to work with other companies is what I always hated about WWE. So much money left on the table because of petty bullshit.

There is absolutely ZERO incentive for WWE to build any goodwill with AEW. They're #2 by a long mile.
They bring nothing to the table other than talent WWE can sign once their contracts are up.

onscreen the WWE almost never references AEW...ppl claiming WWE should've let Billy come back and acknowledge AEW are either pro-AEW and/or dont grasp the real dynamics between the companies
back in the day you think the NFL was looking to give the XFL a platform?

Of course it's a business which is why TK made WWE the offer. He's not going to give them Billy Gunn for free. I said as much in a previous post. Triple H can either take it or leave it. He chose to leave it. No fantasy booking. People on Twitter just agree it was a fair BUSINESS offer from TK.
It really ain't that deep. TK made a business offer. Billy Gunn appearance for an AEW mention. Triple H decided to decline the offer. The End.
