He wasn't silent. He raised the alarm at the time on what he could. When Barr tried to fire him, he let everyone know and didn't let Barr replace him with a lackey. I think we posted about it here at the time. When writing the book he had it vetted by the DOJ. Some things he legally couldn't talk about due to ongoing investigations and cases. He did everything right, tho.
