They niggas too. Believe people when they tell you who they are...
It is not derogatory to them and not meant to offend black people. As they are including themselves in the categorization. They know they not Black, but they definitely niggas too. You got to respect people self-concept or fuck around & find out like homie in the video.
In many ways it's a new day, when I was working in the public school system, I had to get use to young Mexicans, Latinos, Samoans & other pacific Islanders calling themselves niggas. And they'd just be talking amongst themselves too. It really bothers some people b/c it represents a disruption in their identity conceptions & formations.
We hear that they are two Americas. One White, one Black. Well, if you don't belong to white America, the only thing left is Black America. And these kids live among black people, go to predominantly non-white schools. They even have multiethnic gangs that have Mexicans, Blacks, & Pacific Islanders.
In the final analysis we got potential allies. But what will we do with these new niggas?
