A lot of people found out about it when Watchmen came out. People thought that it was an exaggeration and they didn't realize it was the most real life film depiction to date.
I I'm not surprised he didn't know. American history is whitewashed. And when they control the narrative, when they control the information, it's easy for something like that to escape the knowledge of the masses
This is True. I was vaguely aware of the massacre only because of the GAP band's name. I didn't get into the gory details until I watched HBO's "Watchmen." Only then did I become fully aware. When I saw the Airplanes dropping bombs on the community. I thought it was over the top, and I picked up my tablet and started researching the event while I was watching the show.
