The biggest naysayers are those who talk about third parties.
Look at how Sanders gained a big following but instead of running as a third party. He chose (not once but twice) to run on the dem ticket and his supporters are the ones who were the naysayers as to why he couldn't run as a third party candidate.

I'm basing it on the excuses (money, media, apparatus, etc....) that people who talk about third parties make as to why they can't run a third party but instead need to run under the dem banner.
Even you made a point to point out that dem/republicans make it hard to run as a third party. So..repubicans make it hard for dems in republican controlled states and vice versa.
Did Bernie Sanders not have the momentum to run as a third party candidate, especially the second time around?

I've stated my case many times on here and not gonna keep repeating it, no disrespect meant to you, but briefly, an acceptable minority Jesse Jackson type populist/centrist campaign. Allows them to claim they're not racist while getting a significant portion of their agenda accounted for. You don't defeat you steal them away. Same on the other side. If there's really one party then there's many who will vote in the middle to keep out the leftist and right wing crazies. Unite through populism and go after the poor and middle class vote of all races.
