I like Garland but I don't think he earn it base off one good season...imo..While,the potential is there;it's clear that the Cavs are trying to make him and Mobley the face of the franchise while trying to make Sexton bench player. I told someone,a few hours ago that this franchise could have easily market Sexton,Mobley and Garland at the same time but this organization rather listen to the fans when it comes to Sexton.
The thing that really irks me about this deal is that people have no problem saying Sexton shouldn't be getting 20+ million a year because of his meniscus tear but praising Garland getting his money when he's the more injured prone player. Last season,was Sexton's first season missing a lot of time but people want to ignore Garland's long history of being injured on top of being a low stamina player.
Even,the people that hate Sexton don't understand this move because you're basically saying Garland will be healthy all the time and I seriously doubt that's going to happen.
If,Garland would have done it again this upcoming season then I wouldn't have an issue with it but to give a player a max deal after one good season when he was forced not be passive because the starting shooting guard was out for the season is ridiculous.
Garland is a good player and will get better but I feel like giving him a max deal after one good season while letting the Sexton situation be in limbo is ridiculous. They should have gave Sexton his contract before last season started,which wasn't going to be a lot.
I agree with you and I'm wondering how Sexton will handle this...maybe he will take all Cavaliers things off of his social media, that seems to be the way the young folk handle things these days
I know Sexton wasn't happy when they couldn't get a deal done before the season last year. I doubt he'll take all Cavs things off his social media since he's always said he wants to be here even after they couldn't reach a deal but at some point you gotta do you because apparently this organization claim they want Sexton back but at a lower price.
Sexton could do the things Garland can't do and vice versa. That's why the whole fit thing doesn't make sense because both of them complement each other but the fans and media don't see it that way.
This team fell apart because teams were doubling Garland and they didn't have another reliable ball handler that can score. The team thought LeVert was that guy but he was nowhere to be found for most of the second half of the season.
I don't see another team picking him up this year, plus the NBA will probably suspend him anyway

Remember before the video Rice was only suspended for TWO games, after the video he got the ban hammer so you know Bridges is screwed because he has victim pics and video of a little kid describing what happened. Also I just looked up the Ray Rice incident, he appealed his ban, won but no team still picked him up and he hasnt played since
Sadly, it's also going to depend on how talented he is.
