NBA 1978 full game Sixers v Celtics - no 3 point line - how does this style of play look to this generation?

Late 80s and 90s up to 2010 were the toughest periods. What are you trying to prove with this video. I still stand by my Steph would still ball but as efficient back then as he is today.
Not trying to prove anything ..just curious to what the younger generation thinks of the style of play, strategy etc of the game as it was played without a the 3point line...

Not saying they were better or worse..

This play here is the textbook difference in the mindset between eras...it shows the mind frame shift in the sport. One of the commentators said "ALL OF THE GREATS WOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT SHOT!"

ALL THE GREATS??? He must mean all the greats IN THIS ERA

in the 80s, 90s and 00s EVERY GREAT (Bird, Magic, Isaiah, Kobe...MAYBE Lebron) would have drove to the basket and forced overtime... Jimmy put that shit up with 17.9 seconds on the clock...down by 2 with only one person in any position to try to stop him.

this analytically driven "launch 3s at will" mentality may be exciting to watch but its fucked up basic common sense in the game. And thats not the only time thats happened. Players have poor clock management/awareness and it seems to be rooted in the up tick of shooting 3s as a first choice.

All I can say is that for the folks that claim the NBA was rougher back in the days, most of that shit was created to try to slow down Jordan who was playing 2 times faster than the rest of the league. Prior to that, the NBA was soft and slow.

How could the league be slower when possessions per game were higher then they are now. ISO ball slows the game down.
