Kota still got heat for them..

Something about his mother, but he said he will speak more about it soon.

His mother attempted suicide after he told her he got reprimanded for breaching his contract with New Japan. Honor and saving face is a big deal in Japan. Kota has nobody to blame but himself. He's the one that breached the contract.

I thought he said that he went to a program the higher ups stated he could go, but one person was like fuck that and tried to bully kota...

Kota never got the okay from President Takami Ohbari to do the show. Once Ohbari found out that Kota did the show he met with him personally and Kota explained that he acted on an impulse decision by going to the show and apologized. Ohbari basically gave Kota a warning and that was that.

Weeks later a New Japan staff member who Kota knew personally started arguing with him in a text message because he thought Kota purposely went to that show in an effort to get fired and get out of his contract. Around this same time Kota's mother attempted suicide so Kota said fuck it and that's when he screenshot and posted the text message exchange online.

Once Ohbari found out about all of this he apologized to Kota for the actions of that staff member and that member was reprimanded. Didn't say if he fired him or not. So at this point the situation has been handled.

Work or no work, it's not a good look.

Work - You don't wanna do a work that actually disappoints the fans by wasting their time and money. He gets pretty good heat just being in character and he's already the biggest heel in the company.

Shoot - He makes himself look risky and if he somehow ends up in WWE and pulls a stunt like that, he could potentially Lio Rush himself.

No time and money is being wasted. You're there to see a pay-per-view show packed with 12 matches and everything else that Vegas has to offer. Nobody's coming to Vegas specifically to see MJF and if you are you're a damn fool.

Which is why I'm strongly leaning towards this being a work. It makes no logical sense for him to do a shoot here.
