Me and wifey have a team of 3 nannies who switch off to help with my 3 kids. We don't have grandmother's, aunts, etc. around to help raise kids like who helped raise me. I saw my son picking up mannerisms from a nanny a few years back and squashed that quickly.

BUT my nannies aren't around our kids 24/7 like the white folk in this episode. They don't put the kids to sleep or take them to school (I do). It's ok to get help with kids, but as a parent you have to give up stuff you like (like jogging and the yoga the mom bitched about) until your kids are self-sufficient. Or your childcare will know your kids better than you do. Those parents weren't willing to sacrifice anything for their son. My kids shifted my whole life...

On another note, the older white kid at the funeral who was raised by Sylvia in Tribeca who had the trini accent was hilarious. For those who don't know, Tribeca is rich white Manhattan.

Sylvia knew how to put the kid to bed, soothe him when he was anxious, changed his taste buds, kid was watching the proud family cartoon, knew Trini music.......

Parents had a damn stranger in their house and they thought it was Sylvia......it was their kid. And the pics of Sylvia with the kid, they kept being delivered, couldn't get rid of them......then to see it was her.....and their kid......

mayne I know a lot of folks don't like these "anthology" episodes that aren't tied to the core story/ characters..... but after rewatching them..... I like them all more. That reparations episode is still on my mind.....

wifey doesn't watch Atlanta but she's watching these one-offs with me and it's giving us something to talk about.

you say - care to elaborate?

curious if you addressed with son, nanny - both and how you approached

kids pick shit like that up from every damn thing - at that age especially the mirror neurons are firing for dear life lol

It was an air drop picture..from "Gooch Lickman"... so definitely an asshole....?

I thought it was a pig or some type of animal shitter haha

Good eye bro on catching who the drop was from lol

Wasn’t as easy to spot as that RAPISCAN shit at TSA in 302 lol

Just son. Just kept telling him to stop and he did. It was much easier than I thought it would be.

Recently my wife tried to get him and his brother to wear some pink shit in support of their little sister. Dude said "That's a girl color!". My PC wife was disappointed. I gave him a high five. Miss my sons with that gay shit.

Like the reparations one off, I feel like this one was also intended for the white ATLANTA audience

edutainment-wise

they’re super well done. And both have solid representations of real niggas throughout. But where I feel these are PSA to the white ATL watchers, the opener - that was definitely a PSA to Earn and the Crew not to mention the black ATLANTA audience Lol #STAYWOKE:lol:

word. thats good to hear. innocent shit we honestly all do and mostly have to catch ourselves to consciously quit.

kids are dope and eager to hear/apply good input/correction when they feel loved and supported lol

i really enjoyed last night's episode
it was some low-key horror aspects

effectively Slyvia, by being good at her job, was more of parent to the Bash than Bash's parents were
at the end Bash didnt need to sleep with his parents cause Slyvia was watching over him and the ending seemed to be a message from Slyvia taunting the parents. They werent able to make it to family picture day but who was there Slyvia. Not only was she there in Bash room, knocking on the door but she smiling/talking shit to em through the pic

Hit the nail on the head.

As long as I have good relationships with my kids, they will do almost anything to make me happy. I think that's why athletes and actors end up with fags as sons...they put so much time into their careers, the kids rebelled HARD and weren't corrected when the first signs were there.

I thought that was him but wasn't 100% sure...he finally did something worth something and he can act like his retarded self.

But ATL series is in their last season but this shit is going to set a bar cause it's real as shit.....it's like a whole different narrative and it's ending with a bang.

Some shit hits too close to home

the meta comment subtitle for this one is something like - “white people
watching this episode will be like … Pain”
Btw

those meta comment subtitles are too funny

the “Three Slaps” one is great lol. I didn’t know wtf was goin on with the titles when I first saw all those extra words lol

‘Preciate this.

I’ve heard DG say this before - Atlanta raised him
And his brother Stephen. And ITS A MINDSET/a PERSPECTIVE and way of being in/seeing and making sense of the world. That that’s what they’re tryin to realize with the series.

I think about how varied the NY Five Boroughs hip hop sounds were. Then goin to the coast… shit was night and day. Bay and LA again super different. Add in H Town and then Midwest and ATL, Nola Miami etc. Ffwd. And now we got generational sound differences like a mfer. Drake is both a Canada perspective & sound AND like Cole and Kenny a “middle child”. And on and on.

Anyway man. I’m just riffing. But mostly enjoying the truth that when we start closely considering OURSELVES and the unique specific familial communal regional and then ever expanding *influences/interactions/experiences* that inform the sense we make of all aspects of our experience and the worlds we know… beyond the mandate of first and foremost - entertainment - interesting af art comes up and out

*I think of all this as maturing activations*

more broadly. It’s wonderful to see black growth and maturity in these shows like Atlanta Insecure as much as I enjoy the Power U - that’s more stationary. where characters and their hustle evolve but don’t mature

And the pseudo black "brother" that got his hands in the pot as well.......

That shit with the Nigerian restaurant......while she was eating she was trying to whitewash the place.....

A place/ food she had no knowledge of moments before
but the fucked up part is that he inadvertently helped undermine an african business simply because he was too lazy to go there and support it himself.

Darius asked for it..... she never heard of it before. So then he took her (?) colonizing/gentrifying ass to the spot......not knowing she wouldn't miss a beat in doing what they do naturally.

I don't blame him. It's in our nature to try to teach and expand peoplee minds/ tastebuds......

just caught up with WHITE FASHION so more aware now of how Season3 is showcasing varieties and levels of the ways white folks “will kill” niggas

Curious about the stand alone episodes possibly being an intentional attempt by the writers/creative team to mirror the disruptions of white folks colonizing.

Just like the opener - cps comes to the house. they TAKE that lil nigga. And it’s up to HIS muhfuckin ass to get away from them broads and get the fuck home to the mother(land lol) before they crazy cracker asses drive his stolen black ass off the cac cliff with they before I self destruct kamikaze asses.

likewise, this season - We get into a flow with the crew and main action… doing our thing… then —boom! some random white bullshit - crackers we ain’t never seen before and won’t likely ever see again - stealing us away/colonizing our peoples ie the main ATLANTA series action - AGAIN!

You might be looking too deep into it, however

You could be right
