What's considered small cap these days? I noticed AVIS in there but the market cap is like $16B right now... is that just because it ran up the past year and change?

The owners of JCPenney have made an offer to acquire archrival Kohl’s in a deal that could value the department-store chain at upwards of $8.6 billion, The Post has learned.

Under the proposal, shopping-mall giant Simon Property and Canada-based Brookfield Asset Management — which together scooped JCPenney out of bankruptcy in December 2020 — have offered to acquired Kohl’s for $68 a share, according to sources close to the talks.

Kohl’s shares on Monday were recently trading at $56.43, off 0.9 percent.

How often you guys look at your investments? I usually look periodically through out the day. All my investments are long term, i think im going to start looking every couple of months now.

These days I usually check my trading account at least once in the AM because I have all my watch lists and market views there. I can get a pretty good indication of how my long term portfolios are doing too just by glancing at the lists.

I'm mostly long term these days too. Usually only go into those accounts around payday when I'm planning on making deposits. So a few times a month.

...I'm still learning so I like to see how the world effects the market, certain stocks, when and why. Also like to see if I can recognize patterns and cycles for possible long term re-investments.

Random question for the experts on the board.

How do you fund your Roth IRA? Looking for insights. Right now I have VOO, VTI, Google, and Apple in my roth right now. I am putting $100 a month into it.

Not an expert but I pretty much do the same thing as you (monthly deposit) with VTI & VXUS as my broad market funds then CVS, INTC, RKLB, NIO, COIN, and SE in a separate allocation basket. The allocation is supposed to be like 50-25-25, but I've been micromanaging it and putting more into the individual stocks when they were "on sale".. BUT I need to get back to a smarter balance cost basis-wise eventually..
