Does this really surprise anyone? Most of these people were born in the early to mid 1900.
The one I knew about, from my childhood was John Wayne. Because my father is a big John Wayne fan. But my mom hated the asshole.

The real challenge is to find stars in Old Hollywood who "weren't" racist.
To my mind, the vast majority of them were (and still are) racist or anti-semetic.
Wow... Jimmy Stewart was surprising. I had gotten his autograph out in front of his house years ago when I was station out in San Diego. A group of us had went up to Hollywood for the weekend. Did the whole tourist thing and drove around the neighborhoods looking at the star's houses. Saw a group of people waiting out by the street around a limo.. So we pulled over, then out walks Jimmy Stewart (he was old as fuck by then)... Dude talked to us, and said how he appreciated the military, etc.. etc. Until seeing this, I thought dude was cool. In retrospect, I'm pretty sure if there hadn't been white people in that group, they would have call the cops...
