yea waiting on the finale this weekend, just finished the finale of the dropout, both really good

The latest episode of Super Pumped was very strong. It really displayed how the pursuit of power and money can
distance you from everything else in life if you become obsessed with doing so

Woke

season 2

Woke takes an absurdly irreverent look at identity and culture as it follows Keef, an African-American cartoonist finally on the verge of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything. With a fresh outlook on the world around him, Keef must now navigate the new voices and ideas that confront and challenge him, all without setting aflame everything he's already built.

A little slow

And the white savior stuff is always tired

But its good dark crime drama and gets better

Rachel Keller is always good and sexy

Beautifully shot

I like how it shows a rarely seen side of Japan

Ken Watanabe is always ill

Listened to this interview during the AM commute today.

Talked with a coworker about the Peaky Blinders series finale. We both agreed it was pretty good as far as series finales go. Not perfect / great, but definitely better than a lot of shows that end on some bullshit. It wasn't the best season and felt smaller scale overall, but still a worthwhile watch.

Finished those last 3 eps of Reacher yesterday. Enjoyed it - a bit too predictable at times, but still a pretty good watch.

We had to scratch our heads and suspend our disbelief a few times at the lack of alarms and security systems. Some of the houses, the police station, the big warehouse. You'd think some of those locations would be more secure, lol.

Can't believe they continued this show. I used to be all about it but I thought it ended perfectly a year or two ago. Like they had shot a finale that I thought was a perfect ending then the shit came back and I was like nah.... Might give it a whirl this weekend

That's a good point. Fortunately with the shorter seasons of 6 episodes, it didn't wear out its welcome too much like the shows that are 12 - 20+ eps.

With the real-life loss of "Aunt Polly" - she was definitely a missing piece. Would have been nice to see her, as well as larger roles for some of the supporting cast.

Unclear when they are going to release the follow-up film in the years ahead.

Peaky Blinders is def a show i gotta start on once my weekly show schedule lightens up, heard a lota good things bout it and im a fan of a lot of the cast

It's worth a watch. Some episodes and seasons are certainly stronger than others, but when it's "on" - it's really good.

An interesting look at 100 years ago. Make sure you watch it with captions / subtitles too - easier to follow the names, accents, and slang.

Dame Dash said in his all the smoke interview that Tyson Fury's ancestors the Fury Clan are in the show? not sure if theres any truth to some of the characters being based on the Fury clan or if Dame is just talking bs

Interesting. There's the gypsy element in the series, but I don't know about their ties to real people.

Me and my gf watched all of Breaking Bad last month and now we're watching Better Call Saul. We're up to season 4 on BCS. This is the 2nd time for both of us watching both series. We watched both programs a few years back and it's amazing how much small details you forget.

Jimmy's brother Chuck was a low down hating son of a bitch to Jimmy.

That's cool about the rewatch of BB and BCS with your gf.

Agreed re: Chuck. So glad that storyline is no longer wasting anyone's time. Glad we can focus on Saul, Kim, Gus, Nacho, Lalo, Mike and company.

Lalo is such a great villain.

Yo H,

That was the most A team Chuck Norris, Conan, Clint Eastwood, Rock level of disbelief ever!!!

And I loved it

Lots of suspension of disbelief in the warehouse fire / assorted gun battles and fights.

Really liked the house scene wherein he set up those guys. The poolside part was a bit far-fetched, but everything before that was pretty solid.

Lol @ your line about the A-Team level of disbelief, haha.

We enjoyed the scenes with Finlay and Reacher. Some fun odd couple 1-liners.

Nice natural, little titties on blonde Roscoe earlier in the season.

I think what was most frustrating about the "Chuck McGill" character played by Michael McKean is that it was well-acted, as to be expected. But the audience didn't really care about his presence. It took away from the series, in that we were primarily fixated on watching Jimmy's scams and schemes, and how he eventually evolved into Saul Goodman. Why care about his brother?

We had no real awareness of "Chuck McGill" on Breaking Bad ... so why care about him on BCS?

Whereas with people like Mike, Gus Fring, and the twins ... it's a pleasure seeing what they were up to pre-Breaking Bad. We had actual investment in their involvement.
