{The Official 2021-22 NBA Thread} - Finals: Warriors vs Celtics…{4-2 advantage warriors } Dubs NBA champs, Curry MVP

My team was in the top 4 in the East before the All-Star;now they're in the 7th seed. I don't understand, why my team is always injured.... :smh:

A lot of these injuries are crazy man. :smh:

Most don't really watch actual games

They watch clips on Twitter and read the numbers
but never/rarely watch the ACTUAL PLAY on the court in real TV or on DVR.
I think part of the problem is they stat us to death with today's player

Instead of eye test they tell you how good a player is by PER's and he's the first player to ever score 5,000 points before age 18

man I hate when I’m discussing a game and dudes start talking that +/-, so and so shot this and that %, their defense was ranked this, I be like if you get the hell outta here with those bullshit numbers you heard some reporter on ESPN say. I even heard a new one last year, I remember I was going back and forth with some dude about a Tampa Bay game and Bradys numbers, he started going on and about “air yards”, I had to go look it up because I was like wtf are air yards..lol Now when someone starts that advanced metrics talk I don’t even take them serious

^^^^^^

The worst part is folk using metrics they don't even UNDERSTAND!

I can't count how many espn talking heads during the broadcast openly admit -

I'm now sure exactly how they came up with this number

This number isn't really accurate but it's what most are using

I know the numbers upon closer inspection are very inconsistent but overall

Some of these numbers are good but the rest...

WTF?!?

I wonder if espn started used some random metric to gage how they paid the on air talent how the hell would they feel.

They claim the stats take into account the in game situations but it doesn't, they'll use that +/- to gauge a player like that player had the ball and was apart of every offensive and defensive play the whole time he was on the court. Then the listeners turn around and repeat them word for word and when you try to show them how flawed it is they come with the "he played in the league/been covering the league for years so he knows more than you":hmm:

It's crazy cause I actually think the hate for him is just made up. I don't see it. He's a great dude and many root for him. Works his ass off too.

It is just made up by these analyst and networks that are trying to push who they have chosen to be the best. How can a guy that can play both sides of the ball do everything and has been a MVP, DPOY, Finals MVP, NBA Champion be below guys that are just seen as scorers?

Real talk pro?

I STILL don't really understand plus minus PER etc.

Round of applause for Willie Green.

This season could have turned into a shit show but instead shows a promising future.
