HAMPTON, Va. (WRIC) — Hampton University president Dr. William R. Harvey has announced that the school will invite 50 to 100 Ukrainian and international students studying in Ukraine to continue their education in Hampton this summer.
The selected students will be able to attend classes on Hampton’s campus and receive free tuition as well as room and board for the 2022 summer session. They will also have the option to stay at Hampton and pay regular rates after the summer session.

“The collective Hampton University faculty, staff and students are heart-broken because the war-torn country of Ukraine must deal with atrocities like the bombing of maternity wards, hospitals and other civilian areas,” said Dr. Harvey. “I think this partnership is something that can be beneficial to a great number of students and families. My entire career has been focused on helping people to achieve and meet their goals.”
Hampton extended a similar offer to the University of the Bahamas in 2019 after their campus was impacted by Hurricane Dorian.

As we saw in Ukrainian nobody puts others over their group especially if it’s blacks. Animals were more important than blacks.

Bruh, do you know how much the summer program costs over there? $4k off rip to stay on campus, then it's $425 per credit hour, most classes eat up 3 credit hours. 4 classes plus staying on campus puts you close to 5 figures. It ain't cheap :smh:

I get that and I highly doubt the majority of current enrolled students were ok with that but summer is gone in the blink of an eye.

However, It's still fuck shit. I agree with you on that. Especially considering there are students sacrificing A LOT to remain enrolled, including summer programs, that are used to keep students afloat.

When I read this,
I was under the impression that this was going to be for those Black, Middle Eastern, and South Asian (Indian) who were forced to (racially) stay behind during the initial Russian Attacks. Not for "native" Ukrainians.

Hope I'm right.
But it still somewhat sucks.

It’s frustrating. I have friends that out here damn near selling plasma to keep their kids in an HBCU when they could have went to a PWI for free. Kids get kicked out for having financial balances and their transcripts held hostage, but now they dropping stacks for CACs. I’m gonna stop before my pressure goes up….
