Tom Holland clarifies his future as Spider-Man, says there's just been 'conversations'

Franchise producer Amy Pascal previously said a new Spidey trilogy of films were in development.

Tom Holland is clarifying the situation around his future as Spider-Man after franchise producer Amy Pascal said there was a new trilogy of Marvel Spidey flicks in development.
"We've had conversations about the potential future of Spider-Man, but at the moment they are conversations," Holland tells EW on the road to promote his latest movie, Uncharted. "We don't know what the future looks like."
The 25-year-old English star says he's sure Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Sony head Tom Rothman are "thinking of something" with Pascal, who produced the current Spider-Man films, as well as the animated Into the Spider-Verse movies. "But at this moment I don't know what that is," Holland adds.
The actor admits he's "not really thinking about the future." After the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which assembled Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as alternate-dimension Spider-Men alongside Holland's Peter Parker, he remarks, "I'm still riding the wave of the success of the film and enjoying that."

Pascal had told Fandango back in November that No Way Home "is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel — [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie."
"We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three," she said. "This is not the last of our MCU movies."
Rothman had mentioned to ComicBook.com in December that Sony and Marvel have a "reciprocal" relationship. "We lend one, then they lend one, and that's how Benedict [Cumberbatch] is in this movie, so we have one more lend back that is committed."

In the meantime, Holland will be seen in Uncharted, playing the video game character Nathan Drake in live-action, in theaters Feb. 18.

Tony was the center of it all. If Spiderman never shows up again, will it matter? Bring in Miles and move on.
Spiderman is the most popular character of Marvel; thats not debatable; and Holland has played spidey better than anyone; theres a reason why Spidey, during the pandemic, still is Marvel Studios 3rd highest grossing film ever!! Spidey is the most valuable and bankable of any Marvel characters; he will get paid and Marvel Studios/Sony will gladly pay him...

i don't disagree. Just saying if he is not in any future movies, would he be missed? I'm sure they will play him, Disney and Sony can split the cost.

That is irrelevant fam; he is spidey now and hes played the role pretty darn good; and spidey is arguably the most popular comic book character in the world! the movie did 1.7 billion with no china, in a pandemic :eek2: ; the numbers are crazy when you think about it; he will get paid; plus they gonna feature him with other movies; hes doesnt have to be RDJ because Marvel Studios is already built; he just has to continue doing what hes been doing and Marvel Studios will do the rest...

No joke. Andrew has never been more popular as Spidey. With him saying he wants to fight an alien its possible to use him on the Sony side.

Spider-Man: No Way Home did earn an Oscar nod, just not the one fans were hoping for

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021 Movie)

Sorry, Spidey fans: Spider-Man: No Way Home didn't earn an Oscar nomination for Best Picture — at least not in this universe.
Despite racking up more than $1.7 billion worldwide, making it the biggest box office hit since the start of the pandemic, Marvel and Sony's latest Spider-Man adventure couldn't turn those box office receipts into awards gold. The film — which stars Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire as three versions of webslinger Peter Parker — did earn one Oscar nomination, for Best Visual Effects.

To be clear, No Way Home was always a long shot in the Best Picture race: A multiverse-hopping comic book flick isn't exactly your standard Academy fare, and in recent years, only a handful of superhero movies have earned major Oscar attention outside of the traditional technical categories. 2018's Black Panther became the first Marvel film to snag a Best Picture nomination, followed by DC with 2019's Joker. (Fellow webslinger Miles Morales also won the Oscar in 2019 for Best Animated Feature Film with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.)

Still, after No Way Home swung to the top of the box office and webbed up a slew of good reviews, some fans and awards pundits wondered whether that might translate to awards recognition.

Best Picture race aside, there's still plenty of celebrating to be done in the multiverse: No Way Home will compete in the Best Visual Effects category, alongside fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe entry Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. As for the cast, Garfield snagged a Best Actor nomination for Tick, Tick… Boom!, while his Spidey costar Benedict Cumberbatch also earned a Best Actor nom for The Power of the Dog. J.K. Simmons, who appears in the film as J. Jonah Jameson, also earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Being the Ricardos.

I hope he doesn't overplay his hand. Sony could always revert back to Andrew Garfield.
People will laugh at this comment but Garfield was the mastermind that initially put it out into the universe that Spider-Man should crossover from Sony to the mcu.. that sounded crazy when he said it after part 2 but Sony and Disney actually ended up doing it.. they quietly owe Garfield some money for putting that idea out there..cause that shit ended up being one of the best decisions by 2 diff studios working together... in fact him coming back might have been a thank you for that idea..cut that nig Garfield a check.. I still think his series was one of the worst but for producer credit he gets props

But wasn't Marvel been trying to get all their properties back? He might have suggested it but a lot of people did also. Only reason they haven't gotten it is spidey still sold regardless of how bad Sony fucked it up...

There were zero talks about crossing over.. like I said Garfield put that idea out there and actually kept on talking about it..than the fans started talking about that.. it was one of those he put it out into the world and that shit caught fire.. than a few yrs later an agreement was done and bam Spider-Man made his feature in civil war
