As far as I understand the open borders that Poland has applies only to Ukrainian nationals. Past that it is basically up to the diplomatic weight of whatever country that person is a citizen of. I have not seen any reports of black westerners being held back. Now obviously if you are white it is much easier to hide out on one of the trains or busses. Although an instance that is important to note is that dozens of Indian students where held back at the border as the polish border guards have no legal reason to let them in.
However India was able to throw around it's diplomatic weight to get them through. A further matter to take into consideration is that most white non Ukrainians crossing the border are EU citizens . And as Poland is in the schengen area, they have an open border policy to other EU citizens regardless of the war.
