Loved it, every match slapped, all kill no fill, even the pre show. Hard to make a card better than that. I'm running that shit back tomorrow. This is how I wanna feel after a PPV.

Can't wait to see what they do with Regal. Jade as Jade was fire.

AEW Revolution thoughts ...

One thing about AEW is they go all out on their ppvs. Fantastic show!

The Buy-In (Preshow)

Kris Statlander vs. Leyla Hirsch:
Didn't expect Leyla to win. They definitely see something in her. She's solid but don't really see a high ceiling with her.

Hook vs. QT Marshall: Decent match. Hook is basically all throws. He needs more variety in his moveset. He's developing pretty well though.

Death Triangle vs. House Of Black: Good match. House Of Black had to win this to further build their prestige.

MAIN SHOW

Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston:
Good All Japan inspired match. Great win for Eddie. Biggest win of his career. Kudos to Jericho for putting him over.

AEW Tag Team Championship -- Jurassic Express (c) vs. ReDragon vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson): Great match. Young Bucks always bring it for ppv matches. Their match layout, storytelling and creativity are always on point. Everyone looked great in this. Definitely the right call to keep the belts on Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. ReDragon will have a run with the belts in the future though.

Keith Lee vs. Orange Cassidy vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Ricky Starks vs. Wardlow vs. Christian Cage (Face of the Revolution Ladder Match): That was a good ladder match. Excellent creative spots in this. Everyone looked good. OC was hilarious. For storyline purposes Wardlow winning was the right call.

Swerve Strickland is All Elite

AEW TBS Championship -- Jade Cargill (c) vs. Tay Conti: Jade coming out looking like Jade from Mortal Kombat. This match actually turned out decent. Tay and Jade have a little chemistry together. I liked the frog splash from Jade. She just has to keep on improving.

CM Punk vs. MJF (Dog Collar Match):
CM Punk came out to his ROH theme song. Love it! This was so good. Love the storytelling. Wardlow finally turns on MJF. They stuck the landing and just like that this is the feud of the Year thus far.

AEW Women's World Championship -- Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. (c) vs. Thunder Rosa: Love the new Women's World title belt. I kinda had a feeling Britt was gonna win but I wasn't sure. The match just didn't have a good build to it and felt lukewarm. Also, too much interference for my tastes but I think I see where they're going with this. There will probably be a third match between these two most likely inside a cage that way it keeps Rebel and Hayter from interfering.

Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson: Good match but didn't like Moxley winning like that. Good to see Regal come out. Put him in charge of ROH.

William Regal is All Elite

A.H.F.O. (Andrade El Ídolo, Isiah Kassidy & Matt Hardy) vs. Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara & Sting (Tornado Tag Match): This ended up being better than I expected. The Sting table spot and Sammy Guevara/Isaiah Cassidy table spot was insane.

AEW World Championship -- "Hangman" Adam Page (c) vs. Adam Cole: Hangman had to retain here. Good match. I wonder what's next for Hangman.

Ticket Sales for Double Or Nothing: Double or Nothing is close to sold out already.

On Paige VanZant: Won’t say if she’s signed or not and gives a Kayfabe answer about Wednesday’s Sammy Guevara/Scorpo Sky match. Says PVZ has been training and says she will likely be coming to AEW.

On if he’ll ever put out a list of when wrestlers won’t be on tv: Says it might be a decent idea but some wrestlers don’t want that info out there.

Asked about Ricky Starks bump in the ladder match: Says he’s okay and that his neck is okay.

Asked about where ROH’s “base” would be: Says that he’s unsure. Mentions how ROH’s old hometown use to be Baltimore and talks about the area. Wants to respect ROH’s history but also wants to do things that “make sense” for him and media partners. Thinks he’ll be able to present a great version of ROH.

On having CM Punk come out to the AFI theme: Said Punk knew he wanted to do it. Loves that wrestling fans are great and like the history. Says that they don’t need to be “beaten over the head” with blatant details.

On the future of Honor Club: Can’t say much about it right now. Plans to generate ROH content moving forward.

On Sting: Says Sting, since he came in, has gone above and beyond and didn’t expect him to do what he’s done. Says Sting loves what he’s doing and it’s an honor and pleasure to have him there.

On Matt Hardy: Since his start at AEW, works hard. Puts in time in front of and behind the scenes.

Asked about future plans for St Louis: Says he is working on it to make it up to them. Wants to bring a big show there. Tony is talking about Full Gear 2021, where he had to move the PPV to Minnesota due to scheduling issues with UFC

On Chavo Guerrero: Says he’s about to call Chavo. Says he only missed one message from Chavo before he went to the media. Says he owes Chavo a phone call and was surprised that he did that since he knew it was a busy week for AEW. “Maybe he didn’t know it was such a busy week. I will talk to Chavo.”

Asked if ROH will be a developmental brand or a traveling brand: Doesn’t give a clear answer. Wants to grow the casual fan base. Says ROH was a hardcore fan base. Won’t say what he wants to do with it in terms of the roster going forward but there are a lot of young wrestlers in and out of AEW. Says Sinclair mentions the legacy of ROH was important to them.

On who will book ROH: Says he will be the booker for Ring of Honor.

On if he'll be bringing in anyone else to help with ROH responsibilities: Not sure but name drops Regal, Ace Steel, Sonjay Dutt. Not against using active wrestlers he has to help with things backstage (in general, not ROH specific) like Danielson. He will continue soliciting ideas.

On plans for California shows:
It’ll be a huge loop. It’ll be coming off of DoN, Owen winners. Mentions The Forum being a historic building.

On if we could see anyone else new come to AEW or ROH from NJPW: Can’t say anything else about ROH but with AEW, he says yes. Praises working with NJPW and ease of business. Praises Trent and his match with Jay White. Says Trent got hurt again in the battle royal. “It’s not a bad injury but I hope he’s going again soon.”

Overall, it was a good PPV. I do agree that AEW packs a lot into their PPVs and generally gives people their money's worth.
I didn't like every match though and actually started dozing off during the main event match.
Sorry, but Hangman just doesn't do much for me as the champion and Adam Cole looks to be shrinking by the hour. LOL
Both good workers, but they've relegated both these guys to subpar positions (Cole as the Bucks' flunky buddy and Hangman as a sad drunk) over the past year or so that it's hard for me to take them seriously as world champions.
The Britt Baker match was not good. The interference thing is getting old at this point. If they're going to have a cage match they should have had one by now already considering she's had interference in every match as champion.

11 matches is a lot and I can definitely understand how the viewer can get exhausted. It's a problem that's going to occur when you have a big roster.

I think people want authoritative world champions whereas Hangman comes from a position of self-doubt. He plays the underdog real well but that doesn't work as a champion. I don't think he makes it past Double or Nothing (May 29, 2022) as champ. They have something special in MJF. They need to strap a rocket to him and have him take the belt off of Page.

In regard to Adam Cole I never was a fan of his even back in ROH. He's a solid worker but I never found anything special about him. He has a couple catchphrases that's over with the fanbase but other than that he's meh to me.

I agree. It just makes the referees look like complete idiots when Rebel and Hayter are allowed to constantly interfere like that. You mean to tell me a referee doesn't have the ability to look back at footage of the matches and see all that interfering and make a decision to ban them from ringside? I understand they want to get to a cage match but it just makes Britt look weak as a champion and the refs incompetent. They really got to clean up how they handle interference.

They should have given Hangman the TNT championship first (maybe he did already and I missed it), build him up more as the TNT champion and then if he's ready, the world championship. Seems like they rushed in giving him the championship and he just doesn't seem comfortable as the world champion.

The self doubt, uncomfortableness and depression is apart of his gimmick. That's why he drinks. It's a gimmick that works in an underdog role not as a champion. TK said in an interview last year that he knew from the beginning that the first four world champions were going to be Jericho, Moxley, Omega then Page. Page wasn't rushed into anything. His gimmick just doesn't work well as a World Champ.

I saw that same interview and TK should be smart enough to know that plans change in the wrestling business and what he thought would work when he was just fantasy booking in his mind may not be what's best. He should have changed his plans and put the belt on someone else first.

Even if he did that it's not gonna change Page's gimmick. Eventually Page was gonna have to win the title. The fanbase wanted it. If you kept Page chasing the title forever it would kill his overness with the fanbase. It was time. The long term storytelling between him and Omega needed a conclusion.

Was he a champion b4? I don't know him at all. I love omega! Would love for him to get healthy and get the belt back!

Where is miro and the other meathead (cyborg guy) ?

Hangman Page was never a World Champion anywhere he wrestled (ROH, NJPW) until he beat Omega last November.

I love omega! Would love for him to get healthy and get the belt back!

From the way he sounded in that interview a few weeks ago he probably won't be back for at least another two to three months. Also, when he does come back don't hold your breath on him getting another title run anytime soon. Too many people waiting in line for their turn.

Where is miro and the other meathead (cyborg guy) ?

Miro from my understanding is healthy and waiting to be used. Cage recently had his contact extended. I don't know when Tony supposed to be using him though. He might stick him in ROH.

Gotcha... Thanks for those updates! I think Cage & Cody should go over there!

Who do you think will be the next world's champion? MJF?

MJF should be the next World Champ but I don't know what Tony has in mind. If I was booking it I would go MJF then Danielson then Miro then Punk.
That's awesome!

Out of the guys here now, who has held world titles b4? Has the big guy (red braids) with Jake the snake that hangman beat recently ever been a world champion?

I'll admit, It was a good PPV. Only had a couple complaints...

As mentioned earlier, I would have had the CM Punk/MJF match close the show.

That was a much better feud to end the night on.

I just am not a fan of all the blood shit. We have seen so much of it on AEW, it's not even "shocking" anymore.

Also, I like tag team wrestling, but I'm not a fan of all these tornado, multi tag team shit AEW does. It's all spot fests and kind of just leaves me bored. By the time the main event rolled up, I was legit tired.

I almost wish tag team wrestling was given their own specific shows or PPVs.

AEW crammed a lot into their show last night, probably too much to be honest.

I probably would have left off one some of the multi tag matches or leave them for the preshow and rearranged some of the match orders.

Otherwise, it was a solid B- show.

TK follows the booking philosophies of promotions like NWA, New Japan and ROH. They always put the championship match on last no matter what.

I just am not a fan of all the blood shit. We have seen so much of it on AEW, it's not even "shocking" anymore.

I don't think they do it to be shocking rather than to sell a story or brutality of the match/feud. A dog collar match with a chain is going to have blood in it. Those type of things just go with the territory.

That might have more to do with it being 11 matches on the card than anything. Young Bucks style matches aren't for everybody though.

I almost wish tag team wrestling was given their own specific shows or PPVs.

Now that would be boring. Part of the reason why I like AEW is because you get a mix of everything.

AEW crammed a lot into their show last night, probably too much to be honest.

Having a lot of matches is a problem you have with a large roster. Now that TK owns ROH he can send half the talent there and keep the best on the AEW ppvs.

Otherwise, it was a solid B- show.

Definitely not as good as the "All Out"" ppv last September but still solid.

Yeah I figure it couldn't be many, but I know Jericho, bigshow, Mark Henry, Christian, punk, Danielson, omega and hangman now...

Jay Lethal was a two time World Champ in ROH.

Adam Cole was a three time World Champ in ROH

Sting was a six time World Champ in WCW. Two time World Champ in NWA and four time champ in TNA.

People love Lance archer, so I'm surprised he's never gotten the push over the top...

Prior to coming to AEW most of Archer's success was in tag teams. He didn't really start working singles full time until 2019.

Thanks bro, I forgot about sting! Looking forward to seeing where this goes!
