For those lucky folks born in the 70s and 80s we had the benefit of going up in a time where rap just before it became commercialized and fucked up (by White people of course).

this one here I was on board the USS Estocin and one Cali dude played this and I was hooked. The Dramatics song Get Up, Get Down on this shit was fire
