{The Official 2021-22 NBA Thread} - Finals: Warriors vs Celtics…{4-2 advantage warriors } Dubs NBA champs, Curry MVP

I think the Stepholution has been good for basketball-- It's crazy that the sport didn't really understand that 3 being 33% more than 2 should be a fundamental part of strategy and tactics until he came along.

However, these damn seven footers need to get in where they fit in. Nobody needs Anthony Davis shooting 18% from 3. And even with the good ones, there is a tradeoff and it just is not the best utilization of their natural advantages.

But he's not lol
Dirk is

KD is an all around better basketball player than Dirk is
but just pure shooting? Dirk is better.

Dirk is the best shooting big man that actually attempted to play in the post, something KD has yet to do.

KD had a better career FG and 3-Point percentage.

But I was just fucking with you by the way. Although KD’s 7 feet tall, he’s not classified as a big man and no one would consider him a big man.

Ahhh no worries at all I knew it was just fun talk

I'd say it's mostly cause Dirk guarded the BIGS so that made him a BIG
Kd is mostly and has mostly guarded 3's not to say he can't guard others
meanwhile dirk was only guarding time duncan's and KG's etc.

I guess seeing him successful on the perimeter warped my perspective.

So what are the defining characteristics of a "big man"?

I was just fucking with @largebillsonlyplease only on technicalities.

We don’t need defined characteristics of a big man because we know them. We all know what a big man is, what he does and his position.

I've said,a few times that sports executives depend on analytics way too much, especially in football and basketball. These basketball excutives will release a player for not taking alot of three point shots and when he does take alot of them his percentage aint in the high thirties or low forties. It makes no sense at all. Then,a coach will kill a player for taking alot of midrange shots even though he can hit them more than he does a three...Every player can't be Steph,Dame,Harden and etc that can hit a three at a high volume while maintaining a high thirty or low forty percentage.

This is one of the reasons, why I hate advanced stats. Instead of using the eye test fans and excutives will use advanced stats to make their argument.

I'm a Laker fan. No illusions, just high hopes. AD just don't seem hungry for another chip. He look satisfied. he doesn't seem to take care of his health and be out there looking breakable. If a mf sneeze, he fall down. He was supposed to come back stronger, more mobile, and dominant not soft as a lullaby. He a finesse player who doesn't like to grind hard. He could still not be fully recovered, i could be wrong. I really wish I am. I do wish him the best. I know he got it in him.
Man I wish AD the best. He was playing hurt. Don't understand why he was out there. Then my boy say "Cuz of everyone calling him soft. He gotta prove he ain't. Which doesn't happen." Damn.

I hope he use these circumstances to reevaluate, rehab & recover and come back strong, flexible, mobile & dominant.

First place in what? They're not in first place in the East nor are they in first place in their division.
They are tied for first place in the Central. And they are currently on a six-game winning streak, tied for 2nd in the East!

The delayed games are throwing off the games back calculation, but the Cavs are on a roll.

The Cavs might move up to the 2 seed when the Bulls start playing makeup games for the ones that were delayed.

So lets play hypothetical for a minute; lets say the Nets and GS meet in the finals; how is Kyrie going to play :giggle: ; or any other team or state or city that has covid mandates; and if this so called variant goes wild, then other states and cities might do the same; this shit is so ridiculous; the Nets are fucking up...
Yeah this was exactly my question.... because we know California will shut shit down in an instant and if the nets play one of those west coast teams in the finals then kyrie is a non factor...

At the end of the day it's all about winning. And kyrie gives them the best chance to do that whether he's there permanently or he's only there as a part time hired gun to give KD a night off here and there... but in my opinion The nets should have stuck to their guns, load managed and go all in for the playoffs... them dudes don't need home court they need a gym and a ball, that's it... they have easily 2 of the top 5 to 10 players in the world on their team and that's a whole helluva lot to go into battle with....

this just looks like desperation on their part because the season hasn't gone as expected and the is in large part due to kyrie.
