They must've gave him that bag, I hope he at least gets all of it

Contrary to popular belief, not everybody in WWE wants to leave for AEW.
There's a lot of security to remaining with WWE (assuming they still want you) and a lot of folks are comfortable there.
It's not like he's gonna get any more popular or make more money going anywhere else.

Do they give guaranteed money?

They used to get a downside payment upfront, then get bonuses for working house shows and PPV main events. Now, in the Nick Kahn era, only the top guys get that.

For everybody else, the only thing guaranteed is the salary, so it's just like working a regular salary job. Only the check amount per pay period is guaranteed.

So if you sign a 3-year deal for 1 mil/year, and you get fired before the second year, you don't get the other 2 mil.

Him re-signing doesn't mean he didn't want to go to AEW either, tho.

KO's a family guy, so he's likely more money-motivated than somebody like Danielson.

WWE was willing to give him something to do and give him some money. It didn't look that way a few months ago.

But they gave him an offer, KO saw that there was still some juice in that lemon and decided to squeeze some more out of it and I ain't mad at him.

Because worst case scenario, he gets all the money he can outta WWE while they still see value in him, and if they were ever to lose interest in him and budget cut him, he already has a safety net in AEW.

If KO happy so am I
He has been underutilized at times in the wee but for the most he has been a top guy. In AEW he might be just another guy.

I'm sure he (or his agent) reached out to AEW at some point already.
So it was either the cash (not enough) or creative (he's not best friends with the EVPs like Adam Cole and others are) that kept him from going to AEW.
