I understand your analogy fam. The problem with it is that requires me to disregard all former and recent history of all the politicians that HAVE been on the court and have only double dribbled and in some instances have shot the ball in the other teams basket.
She wasn't "chosen". No one assumed a dem could win the state and she didn't really get a lot of help from the establishment in 2018. She organized her ass off, gave a roadmap for other states to follow, and then she started getting kudos and requests to run for stuff. She kept her focus and has kept the ground game in place that got Warnock and Ossof elected. Now she is back to get the spot she should have won in the first place. Hopefully she is successful. She has kept her goal and focus on GA even when folks where trying to blow her head up and try to get her to go for higher office.

Streets don't really mess with them like that, I'd say most of us vote democratic due to family pressure more than anything else, they really won't help regardless for most of us.
If it's 100 black folks in a room and 5 Asians and I throw 200k on the ground those 5 Asians will get most of it since they know what to do with it, we don't.
We got way more issues than blindly voting democrats and holding hands and doing feel-good speeches.
We looking for real change out there, not gestures, we don't wanna hear about no rappers or garbage like that, we wanna eat.

Nearly 50 Democrat-targeted races flipped partisan control this cycle, compared to six for Republicans.
If we don't have dems elected nothing gets done and the country regresses. If it wasn't for Warnock and Ossof being elected we wouldn't have had control of the Senate to get the other half of the stimulus. Gop only wanted to do 800 instead of 2000 so once they were elected we got the other 1200. I don't follow him closely but he posts what he is working on all the time.
Without dems the crazy white folks who stormed the capital would not be getting held accountable, the Trump Doj wasn't going to pursue them. Biden's agenda to try to help with climate change, child care etc wouldn't be going forward. Vaccines wouldn't be distributed as smoothly. Environmental protections rolled back are being strengthened again. People who lost jobs were able to sign up for the ACA again. You have adults in charge who want to use the govt to help people, rather than use it as a weapon to target states the president sees as an enemy.
Dems aren't perfect. There are a whole bunch of racists there also, but they are better than the GOP and the only other alternative is to let someone else decide who makes decisions and appoint judges. If it's the GOP they will do everything they can to make sure your vote doesn't count.

A bigger safety net won't work forever, social media really got people evaluating everything that the Dems and GOP do, a big reason why these politicians what to find a way to limit it or just downplay it and have people like Joe Rogan constantly say Twitter isn't real life, it's creating real change and they're again it.

Women are on the brink of losing abortion rights, but the raw no pull out crew that complains about black men paying child support don't want to keep dems in charge and couldn't bring themselves to vote for Hillary.
Just for the basics of what dems stand for, it's worth a vote. This is the blog post I've posted before, one party is trying to help Americans live a satisfying life on our own terms, and one wants you only to the extent you contribute to making their donors rich.

The "raw, no pull out" thing is just a euphemism for "she's very attractive and I might take a chance, or not be as careful dealing with her". I don't think many here would really risk their lives, livelihood, or sanity with a total stranger simply based on her looks, but I could be wrong.
Honestly, it doesn't seem that many here are very concerned about abortion rights. Should they be, yes, but we're mostly men and pregnancy and abortion happen to women's bodies.
All that said, I think you are up against a set of folks that either aren't paying attention to the direction the GOP currently wants to lead the country vs the DNC, or don't care. They want to compare and conflate the two parties policy records from the beginning of time and, or even just thirty years ago. All that's in the past. Certainly much of it is painful to black people and we'll never forget or stop pushing for justice for their treatment of our parents/ancestors. But we have to show up and vote for our futures. For all intents and purposes there are still only two parties on the national scene. Not voting is actually a vote for the party that would officially relegate us to two thirds of a human by gerrymandering our populations.
Call me crazy if you want, but I'm also convinced there are actually paid trolls here pressing as many as possible to not care and not vote. Which, as I eluded to, benefits the party that embraces racism, and desires to wear white supremacy like a coat of armor.

Back in September, former president Donald Trump suggested at a MAGA rally that he'd rather have Democrat Stacey Abrams as governor of Georgia than Republican incumbent Brian Kemp.
But now that Abrams has formally announced her candidacy, Trump is taking a slightly different approach.
“Stacey 'The Hoax' Abrams has just announced that she’s running for Governor of Georgia," Trump said in a statement from his Save America PAC on Wednesday.
"I beat her single-handedly, without much of a candidate, in 2018," Trump added, taking credit for Kemp's narrow victory over Abrams in the last gubernatorial election.
"I’ll beat her again, but it will be hard to do with Brian Kemp, because the MAGA base will just not vote for him after what he did with respect to Election Integrity and two horribly run elections, for President and then two Senate seats," Trump said. "But some good Republican will run, and some good Republican will get my endorsement, and some good Republican will WIN!”

At his September rally in Georgia, Trump railed against Kemp by saying, "Stacey, would you like to take his place? It's OK with me," adding that she "might very well be better" than the incumbent.
Trump also suggested that Kemp was unwilling to overturn the results of the 2020 election because he was afraid of Abrams.
"Brian Kemp, (Secretary of State Brad) Raffensperger, and your state leaders surrendered to Stacey Abrams," Trump said. "They totally surrendered to her. I think he's afraid of Stacey Abrams. I don't understand that. Stacey, you know, you have a great team. OK?"

I'm not really seeing any new trolls, just the same old hacks, but a little more agitated than usual. If I had to guess why, its because Stacy Abrams represents a near worst case scenario for them. An intelligent, passionate, real black women, with political acumen and operative skills, that has a good chance of winning one of the nations most significant executive seats.
