The CDC fucked up with telling vaccinated people that it was okay to take their masks off. Once they made that announcement, many stores stopped enforcing their mask policies and still haven't brought them back.
When that announcement was made, many of us stated that we would continue to wear our masks. The CDC was making it sound like if you were fully vaccinated your pandemic was over.
It felt like they were telling people, get vaccinated and go back to work. I don't think it was a coincidence that around the time of the announcement, Joe got on people for collecting unemployment when they could get a job.
When the CDC director was interviewed about if it was safe for a vaccinated person to be around an unvaccinated person who was coughing and hacking, she said your risk was quite low. Keep in mind that that fully vaccinated person in reality could get infected and transmit it to their unvaccinated 9 year old, their 95 year old grandmother, or their cousin with cancer with disastrous results. While her statement was accurate it was also incomplete.
Dr. Walensky also said that kids should be in school, full-time 5 days a week. We're seeing how that has turned out. Kids being at home was another barrier to people returning to work that just magically disappeared when they told people to take off their masks.
This is in addition to the confusion about booster shots. First they announced that everyone will get them at 8 months and now it's some people at 6 months. They couldn't even define how many shots would count towards being fully vaccinated when they made the announcement for boosters.
I'm team blue, but our team has fumbled the ball a few times this last eight months.
Overall I still approve of the job Joe is doing with the pandemic (as do a majority of registered voters), but they need to have all of their ducks in a row moving forward.

The problem is that there are too many Chiefs giving out different information.
There needs to be just one person giving out official briefings and policy and everybody else follows the script.
It’s like during War. The Commanding General gives briefings on the status of operations. You don’t hear his assistant commander, chief of staff, operations commander. public affairs officer, logistical commander running their mouths because they all have limited knowledge of the big picture on what is going on.
Trump was on the right path when he setup a Covid task force…he fucked up putting that idiot Pence in charge.
The US Surgeon General should be the only person giving press briefings and issuing final policy and direction on what needs to be done regarding this pandemic in the United States.
Everybody else needs to follow the SG directive and go into depth on what he/she says. Right now you got the CDC director, Fauci, Director of NIH, Biden and TV talking heads running their mouth and not knowing what the others are talking about.
That is one of the reasons there is so much confusion with this pandemic amongst Americans.
You got to keep it simple. They have made this pandemic beyond complicated.
