I got the point and negated her point. Her point would’ve meant something a month ago or maybe even August 21st at the Prefontaine Classic.
Making that statement on September 3rd makes her sound foolish and trying too hard.
But I’ll pretend to miss the point.
Yes, this it?Happy?

This tweet is the most sensible one I've seen. Why are Jamaican's not upset with Jamaican based companies?
Additionally, Jamaicans have to accept that many "international" stars never breakthrough into the US market. It's too difficult. Think of all the reggae and dance hall stars there are. Most of them could walk down any street in the US and go unnoticed. The same with many international actors and athletes. Hell, Christino Ronaldo has earned over a billion dollars playing soccer, but is virtually unrecognizable to most Americans.
Jamaicans should stop crying for white America's acceptance and just stay in their lane......pun intended.
I disagree. My wife ran track in college and used to make sure we went often pre-covid. It was always packed.I have said many times in this thread, Americans are not the biggest supporters of their biggest track event (Penn's Relay).
Simple, NIKE is a global company. Just because they are not marketable in the US does not mean they are not marketable elsewhere. In addition, there is value in exposure and association.Since many ppl saying Elaine and Shelly is not marketable in the American market why NIKE even bother to endorsed them?

You can just tell this chick don't listen!!!
What lane should Jamaicans stay in?? ....
.... the USA does not represent the entire financial or commercial market, in fact it's not even close to half.....

Shelly doesn't have to mention NIKE once. But, by wearing the shoes, she still sends a message that the product is good and her best choice.
Geechie Fag is doing custodian work right now guys, he gets off at 3PM. Soon as he gets off he will be in here posting. This board is his life.
Americans. Why? Because it has a wide variety of categories. Elementary through college.Yes, but packed by who?
We both agree that the US is a media vaccume. The US dictates global culture. So, most do not feel the need to know what other people are doing because those other people are looking to do what the US is doing. This won't change soon. I've said it in other threads, black Americans only make up 13% of the US population and only 1% of the global population. Yet, we influence nearly 100% of the global culture. I love Jamaica and Jamaicans, but they can not say that. Most Americans wouldn't know the global impact of a track athlete because they do not travel and if it is not shown on the American media, they wouldn't have a clue. This is why most of the popularity argument focus on the American market.

No non US athletes participates unless they run for a US school in this event.

Thank you, for allowing me to walk that back. Wrote too fast.I had to read this ten times.
"No non US athletes participates unless they run for a US school in this event."
In other words, only schools in the US participate in the Penn's Relay?
If my interpretation of your statement is correct.
YOU NEVER ATTEND PENN'S RELAY and I don't want to brand you a liar but tell me I didn't understand what you wrote.
But you can correct me if I am wrong.
You missed the entire point. People are more interested in deriding Sha’Carri than they are in promoting their own sprinters.
In reality, even Caribbean women wearing bright colored weaves (as much as I hate this style) is straight from the US black women's playbook.
My brother, don't discount black American women ghettoness.Disagree. They been on that for awhile and I don't believe they got that from our women at all.

The Penn Relays are based upon NCAA and North American schools.
Some international schools do participate, including those from Jamaica. However, a vast majority of the spectators are US.
Edit: I just spoke with the wife, we are already looking into Air BnB/ hotels for April. I will share photos from the 2022 event.

Big facts, commercials look very different around the world. There’s a lot of Ads we don’t see in the US market and they use different personalities abroad.
And no one in this thread mentioned it. But cats was posting fake photoshopped IG quotes earlier this week. Nike doesn't have to pay these people either, they do the promo for free!!!![]()

Caribbean and African women have been shaking ass for centuries. But, US black women took twerking to new heights and now Chinese girls are shaking their backs.
Geesh.
