See the problem is a lot of people in this thread and beyond are stuck on two mindsets. Either they embrace the hood and keepin it real while denigrating black people that want better as coons and sellouts OR they try to immerse themselves in the white man's cesspool and look at anything pro black as ghetto and beneath them. There is a third position though that everyone seems to overlook. There actually are black people that embrace blackness, recognize systemic racism-white supremacy but at the same time realize that as a people we actually can strive for excellence without the stink of the ghetto and still succeed without kissing white ass or adopting the peckerwood's fucked up world view. That's the needle that I've always threaded for my life.

Elaine has a race today. But the only way to draw attention to it is to post it in the Sha'Carri thread. Why can't she have her own thread? Is she able to stand on her own merits without clout chasing other more famous athletes name's and brand? Would we even care? A "real fan" of Elaine or track and field would make her her own thread.
