We seriously need to protect Simone Biles, because they are doing to her what they did to Gabby Douglas. Yes she was the previous gold medalist, but she is allowed to have a off day (if "off" means she's still in first place), she is allowed to not smile and be visually frustrated, she's allowed to ignore post round interviews. And yet these commentators are talking about this being a huge "disaster" and making comments on her physical appearance (S.B.: makeup, G.D.: hair) and her "attitude"

clearly coded as Aly, Nastia, Shawn, never had an attitude when frustrated. Heck McKayla Maroney's 2nd place disappointment face became a cute meme she could joke about on Fallon. Being called the greatest of all time at 24 has to be incredibly difficult, without having a NBC News camera shoved in your face while you are clearly trying to hide your crying for getting first but not "first by a big enough margin." She's best in the world because she doesn't settle and is a perfectionist but give her a break honestly. Do not let them demonize her and get in her head writing disparaging articles the way they did with Gabby.

What I've noticed.

There are men who are angry about paying $350 a month in child support trying to tell Simone Biles to "toughen up"

There are men who barely made varsity at their High School giving their "athletic opinion" on how Simone Biles needs to handle this.

There are men who were high school superstars that received division one scholarship but washed out in college trying to give their "Professional opinion" to a World Champion.

There are people who called in sick from their job's parking lot 20 minutes before their shift starts because mentally they ain't got it criticizing Simone for flying to Tokyo & changing her mind.

There are men with daughters saying that Simone being sexually assaulted in the past shouldn't be an excuse for what's going on today.

Don't be upset because Simone is taking care of her mental health & you haven't taken care of yours.

She rehabilitated Childs. She has fought US Gymnastics and is keeping the heat on sexual assault. Nobody is Jackie, but in her sport, NOBODY is doing more out front for young Black females.
